Look, Go back and read all my posts about this. Its not an auction thing its a rule thing. In my explanation of the rules I know it seems like Im trying to just keep things quiet. I'm not. I speak up because That rule is a pet peave of mine, I've made that known. It bothers me, just like me...
 :cookoo: Jeezes I thought this ended a few weeks ago.
I only speak up when the rules are broken, not when guys post legitemate discussion about auctions. If youd go back and look this is in the GL forum .
Guys your missing the point of this thread. Heres what Im trying to get at, if they've already gone thru the process of lotting the stuff and taking pictures and all that just to put it online and know its not going to bring the minimum bid, whats the point, thats wasted money. Just take the...
How many of us have sworn not to buy from GL anymore but still do it anyways? They are the only game in town and they know it. And dont anyone chime in and say buy from private dealers, dealers have to get that surplus from somewhere.
GL has every right to maximize profits. But to what extent? At some point they are going to piss off enough people (customers) that its going to hurt their bussiness.
I was hoping enough people that felt the way I do about this particular GL policy would speak up and maybe something might...
Im all for private business, and if thats how they want to operate then so-be-it. It just seams to me that they would make more money if they put a little effort into customer service and maybe listening to what the customer wants. I think the American way as Hobie put it is for the "company"...
Im sure there not losing money. I would think they stand to make much more if they let someone bid 20-50 bucks for a transmission or engine in a container then let it go into a bulk scrap pile where that individual item is only gonna amount to a few pennies or maybe even a few dollars by weight.
When did that happen I never even noticed. I hate to see this site lose ad. dollars. I started this thread in hopes enough people would speak up and say the same thing and show GL how much they are losing by placing a $150 min on some stuff.
This minimum bid stuff is stupid. I see tons of stuff I'd like to bid on and would gladly pay more than scrap prices for but not the $150 min. GL wants. Why let it go to the big scrap pile when it doesnt sell, and bring pennies when it could bring $20, $30, $40 per lot. I just dont get it?
