What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I a set of BFG KM2 and Toyo MT 255 85r16 on my trucks. Both sets were purchased a few months apart in 2018. Both brands have been great, but I can tell the Toyos are holding up just fine. The BFG KM2 will probably have to be replaced this year...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Vortec 5.7 with a carb I assume.. I went with the factory EFI and the GMPP 395 hydraulic roller cam. Even with a dead cylinder(more on that later) and the ecu overcompensating the air/fuel mixture it'll still move my M1008 with ease

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The mech went to swap the cam in the Vortec 350 and the front bearing looked a lil suspect. We decided to play it safe and put in new cam bearings. The rod and main bearings were good to go. I'm getting anxious to get the Vortec swapped in... *i decided to swap in the same hydraulic roller cam...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

It was the last ride for the ole worn out 6.2 diesel. Drove it down to the shop to drop it off. When it comes back it'll have a Vortec 350 in it. * When I bought the 86' M1008 in June 2018, I knew I was eventually going to have to swap out the engine. I can't complain, I got 5yrs out of the ole...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I don't drive my 85' M1008 as much as I used to. Only a handful of times each month. The 86 M1008 aka the 💩box gets driven at least twice a week to run errands. On that note I looked at a Vortech 350 to swap into the 86' M1008. The ole 6.2 is losing more compression and it needs to be replaced...

Off Road Design part #GU37001 *it's designed for about a minimum 2-2.5in lift. Not sure if it'll work on a K5 frame with stock springs

Sway quick disconnect and the rear winch FINALLY full operational on the 85 M1008... and trimmed the front fenders just a lil bit, so no more tire rub.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

No work on either of the M1008 trucks at the moment, but the shop ordered a new AC compressor for the 86 M1008 and it never showed up. So the shop ordered another one again. Anyone else having shipping issues with parts or anything else? I know everybody is short handed at the moment, but dang👿

Took the 💩box M1008 back to the shop to replace/warranty a steering box less than 2mos old.... maybe 1500 miles. The mech swaps out the steering box, test drives the truck and the new power steering pump decided to quit🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. Does anyone these days make decent replacement parts for these...
