What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I’m chasing through the articles now, looks good. Truth be told, I’ve been wanting to build my own fridge anyways so I can super insulate it, but having all the nice stuff inside is nice too lol. I’ll probably just go with a residential apartment sized fridge and just be done with it, and later...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

If this is what you mean https://www.frys.com/product/9584332?source=google&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIr9nnzdCp3AIVC61pCh1ECwRrEAQYBiABEgI9F_D_BwE Then I’ll probably include it on my build. While I don’t consider it cheap it’s not unreasonable, and it sounds like it’ll work in almost any environment...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I like the AC/heat combo idea assuming the heat is off of propane. When I looked at the 12k unit you had linked it looked as if it was AC only, but space-wise I think it could work. I could put it in one of the cabinets for the utilities.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

If it weren’t for my current pickle (the engine rebuild) I’d be all over trying to get AC in my ISO container. One thing at a time though, and it looks like rebuilding my replacement head just got pushed back a month or longer. My RV fridge that I’ve been using has given up the ghost so I’m...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Why not create a thread? I’m curious, and given that any ideas would work for my situation I might even use them. After I fixed/replaced my float I still had intermittent use on the gauge and it wasn’t accurate, hence why I pulled it out and cleaned the contacts inside the sender...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

They do, but those only come into play when on those respective state highways and other roads, and not federal interstates. Most of the time, state limits on personal vehicles disappear when traveling in a different state. Part of the funding for states upkeep on federal highways is based on...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

There are are no length limits, but most trailers are designed for either single use or multi trailer use and have their lengths adjusted by the manufacturers. https://ops.fhwa.dot.gov/freight/publications/size_regs_final_rpt/ A single 40’ trailer is legal, but if you were to do multi trailers...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

You realize I was talking about the trailer, not the back of the truck, right? I probably will stick to 20’ anyways, at least until I get to my final destination.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

That’s what I’m doing as well, RV ISO on the truck, with another ISO for a trailer workshop. I would love to have a 40’ ISO for the workshop, but not sure if I could do that with the roads I’d want to travel.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Just a thought, but check out my plans for mine. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?168248-M934a2-bhtrv I haven’t updated it lately even though I’ve done a few things. But my recent though is that while I build my chassis for the ISO I’ll include a floor in it so that I can still use...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Take your sending unit out and dip it in some vinegar for a few hours. Unless you have another issue, like a sinking vs a floating float or the gauge itself, that’ll fix it most of the time. Corrosion builds up on the resistive contacts inside the sender and renders it useless. While you have it...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

If I remember right, 98G or CSM Davis said mine was a RRAD too, makes me wonder if that’s why I’m having so many issues with my engine. make sure to check your fuel line right at the elbow where it goes into the tank if it is still the OE copper line. Mine was cracked and left me stranded out...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

If I’d seen when you asked I woulda told ya. We check in FBM once in a while, definitely more often than on here lol

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yes, the hood comes off. If I could’ve figured out another solution that would pack up like this one will and allowed me to not have to pull the hood off I would’ve done it. I wanted something that I could use the truck frame to do the heavy lifting and still pack up easily after I’m done using...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Finally finished building the front bumper mount for the HF crane. As soon as I finish grinding away on the C-channel and I-beam for the ISO frame I’ll start on disassembling the engine.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

My time time behind the arc stinger has been limited, but if we were talking about TIG or MIG then I have lots of time there. TIG has been all personal use, but have had several jobs doin MIG. Definite favorite job was welding up the aluminum semi trailers. As long as you know what you’re doing...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Lol blah blah blah lol they can stick that crack up their arse. But you’re right someone will start whining about welding done by someone else when they themselves can’t weld for sh1t lol lol yer an ass

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

If you’re talking about consistent between different mixes (like different days) I’m not sure, I’ll have to let you know later. If you’re talking about consistent throughout the whole batch, then that went great. Only thing that pissed me off was that some junk fell into the powder as it was...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Got two corner assemblies for the ISO frame that will be mounted to the truck finished today with the help of 98G who brought his arc welder. Welded up and now ready to be welded to the I-beam. For that part though I’ll be welding them together on top of the shipping container so I know for a...
