    . My best guess is that the wire that runs down through the column has rubbed itself bare somewhere along the way. Attach a new piece of 14ga to the old wire and pull it out through the bottom of the column, then thread it to where it touches the wiring harness.

    . Nothing like lift and insert starter. Remove starter, chase the threads, lift the starter again. There is no job that can't be done several times - just for fun :) Glad you had the bolts. SO, big question: On these GM starters on these trucks - There isn't a knurled patch on the starter...

    . I really love that piece of railroad iron for shaping the humps and bumps in the floorpan! We have a chunk here that we rescued from a rail replacement project about a thousand yards up the road. It is perfect for forming a lot of shapes.
