    803a not warming up

I had one opportunity at 1 degree F to run, started and ran nicely without issue, warmed up to 175F or so. Wind was about 40mph and I kept rad exhaust 90% covered and did not run the arctic diesel coolant heater. I also changed the oil and picked up about 5psi oil pressure cold and 3psi hot...

    803a not warming up

I have that same issue opening the instrument cover at those temps, there are worse noises (like rabbits being eaten in the woods) but that one is up there. So 24 minutes to get to 180F by gauge reading? Machine sounds good!

    803a not warming up

I would start with lower loads. Then work up, with assumption that less loading with have a cooler running generator. I.e. 25% , 50% and 100% and the respective coolant temperatures compared to ambient. Curious to see what temp change you see by blocking top of rad fan with plywood. At this...

    803a not warming up

Hi Ray- the g-17 was split and sucking air. Ray just as an aside the unit has no problem starting either with the arctic/espar having been run or not. It starts very well. The problem is making temp and holding temp and eventually dying due to fuel issue which I am still getting to bottom of...

    803a not warming up

Pushed a 'pencil' of ice out of the line before pump and strainer... generator running well again. Not sure where the water is coming from. No source on the g-17 yet, looking for the above PN from LITD, will let you know how it works out.

Like so? (pictured is 802 in garage where both it and I am warm) What is the part number on the inline feed line filter?

    803a not warming up

Another AAR - with both the main and cartridge fuel filters replaced, had another repeat of previous problems. Temperature is 5 F (was -5F overnight) and gale force winds. Was running generator with 1/2 inch of rad vent exposed on horizontal surface, 50% load, started stumbling with eventual...

    803a not warming up

Hi guys, to be clear, I don't know that the issue lies with them, there could be a MITM (man in the middle). Really with any website unless you click that locked / secure button at the top and review the security certificate and have a known reference for that certificate (you know what it...

    803a not warming up

Another AAR - I haven't had the cold temperatures to confirm, but I did another filter change on primary and the cartridge and they were in terrible shape. Lots of rusty water in big filter and the sediment in cartridge filter. Generator seems to run stronger, gave it a good 65 amp load per...

    803a not warming up

Confirmed winter diesel. I hope changing the cartridge in metal bowl filter will be the ticket... still waiting for that filter, we are seeing major supply issues already with the trucker border mandate north of the border. This is napa supply chain that I use for all filters, as well as the...

    803a not warming up

Yes I have looked at that fan several times and thought why isn't that clutched...with half inch plywood plus several 2x8 cutt off pieces blocking the horizontal surface, there is enough wind that my wind block nearly floats. Yes, so using plywood and lumber and blocking the up wind air intake...

    803a not warming up

No, runs very well. I am just waiting for that bowl cartridge filter to change it and weather to go cold again to provide opportunity to test. And I guess I should be taking a fuel sample next time to put in freezer and verify. So aside from the commercial anti gel's referenced in above videos...

    803a not warming up

I just watched that recently and thought I would procure some 2 stroke oil for adding lubriscosity to my main bulk tank. I recently added a clear filter bowl with water absorbing filter on main bulk tank (which I fill set out of) so I can run fuel with a visual reference.

Yes temp gauge is working now - and yes the set will start fine without the arctic heater.

    803a not warming up

AAR followup: Temperature -25 to -30 Celsius, base temp, plus strong wind (generator outside in wind) Arctic heater warms unit up to 180F no problem. Turn arctic heater off, and start generator. After 10 minutes running generator cooling down to 155 to 165F. Freq starts to warble. Drops...

I was able to get one from member here. Looking forward to installing it. Course it is nice a warm now.

    803a not warming up

Looks like a beauty! I like that the coolant tube to block is size of the block heater outlet. What are the costs on these items? Looks like a mini espar which are very expensive. I have my generators outside my sea container which holds 800AH battery. I wonder if using a dc based coolant...

    803a not warming up

Sounds like a nice feature to have a generator happy - that would run on 24vdc? To be clear, even in adverse conditions, with no load, my generator, if working properly should come to 180F, correct? nathan

What is this 'heater' switch you have on your main control board?!

    803a not warming up

I did a complete drain, and reused the coolant which had about 500 hours on it. Was in good condition.
