I drive so many of these truck I’m able to see the differences in fan clutch operation. what is 100% is that none seem to be identical. I have a truck or 2 that when hey engage, it’s like “****!” clean underwear needed, and then others that just make a nice smooth transition, what I’m most...

220 is the normal range....don’t trust the gauges to be exact, they aren’t. sounds like a normal running truck.

Just leave the tdm unplugged till it’s replaced and drive it

    HMMWV Overheat Q's and pictures

Start with thermostatic switch...most likely the culprit, won’t open when hot.

Is your fan clutch engaging? Very common for most of these m1045’s and m1123’s to have frozen and inop fan clutch’s from sitting for 9hrs in the desert. Have you unplugged your TDM to see if it engages and defaults to locked on? These A2’s run at 220 all day long...only had one or 2 that ran at...

Stick with buying from Kascar, HPG or MAC Motor’s...that is unless you know what to look for. I call BS on the “it shipped from somewhere else”

You bought a chinese knock off from eBay? Those are set to open at the wrong temp. order from HPG or Kascar and get the correct OEM switch.

thermostwic switch in the left water cross over....that's where the temp reading is taken from and allows or denies 24v to the TDM....common fail point.

some.....and you will pay an arm for them at any dealership. Remember, all the sensors in this engine are 24v. the mil 6.2 cdr setup is different then civ, glow plug types etc....I have never found anything at my dealership for anything I work on. Water pumps at o'reillys.....napa is your best...

The older temp unit with the "cool guy" gauge I beleive reads cooler rather then hotter. I have the "cool guy" gauges in my truck and use the standard TSU and all seems ok. I have never removed one of the "gray bodied" TSU from any motor I have received from the military, yet Steve Owen from...

Start with a temp gauge' I have had the read high before, also had an issue of bad wire with a high resistance short many moons ago....truck would read fine a Lowe temps, then when at full temp would peg the meter. I had replaced the gauge and the sender with no changes....so I ran a wire from...

that Thermostat looks correct...My H1 Hummer has 2, they are/were notorious for being bad, mine were stuck open....so the engince never went above 170, regadless of the temp and took some time to get to Operating temp...changed them out and Bammm! All good. And Yes, Same Guy....Its a 10min...

Who did you speak with at Kascar? I talk to them every day....I will be more then happy to straighten them out on this issue. Your truck is not in Iraq in sweltering heat, he was in New Jersey on a nice day. The 6.5s I have done run at what I like to say "just left of 200". Does your temp gauge...

    HMMWV Overheat Q's and pictures

First things fist..... you would know if the fan clutch is working cuz when it kicks in you will hear and feel the loss of power. with engine running cold...unplug the TDM wire...it's the plug with 2 wires not the one with 4. the fan should move in and out....it fails in the engaged mode, the...
