What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Rear main seal replacement. Old rope seal came apart in my fingers. I could only find about half of the original seal, the rest looked disintegrated. Thought I was about to snap my breaker bar getting those bearing cover bolts out, don't think I've ever seen it bend that much. Only took about 7...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Spongy Brake Pedal Gremlins and Woes: Started out with winterizing the truck (moving to Alaska in a few months), wanted to put in some fancy brake fluid and clean out the old stuff. Truck has been converted to rear disks btw. Found that one of the bleeder screws was crossthreaded and jammed in...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Been chasing spongy brake pedal gremlins for over a month now. Old MC wasn't able to fully actuate the rear disk brakes, it was running out of fluid. I also snapped a brake line (few posts above). Took off the original disk/drum proportioning valve in exchange for an adjustable one (can see it...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Already have my head buried in the truck trying to sort out the gremlins (this month its the brake system and the proportioning valve). Between that and work I've no time for models. Just saw the price... 75 euros for something I wanna use as a dash ornament, that will bake in the Georgia sun...

Don't think I posted this yet. But made a diy control/gauge cluster a few months ago. Mostly to have the tachometer in my line of sight while driving. It's a 1/8" aluminum sheetmounted with some fat washers through the dashboard. Its labeled so wifey can drive the truck properly when she needs...

@emeralcove It is lifted, 4" on the front and 5" on the back. Offroaddesign sells the kit configured for any amount of lift (or none). If you have specific questions to their kit you can call them, they'll talk you through it. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Installed off-road design's crossover steering (including new steering box) and kingpin spring eliminators. Steering previously was super loose and crooked. (Think 80s truck driver movies) These kits fixed it right up. It's a world of difference. Very little slop now on the steering, and it's...

Wife is gonna drive it round the lot every so often. I'm about to leave for army stuff. I've put a little less than 10k miles on it since getting it 5 years ago. What is a regular basis for glow plugs? Going to seafoam in the fuel tank and call it good for now. Sent from my LM-G710 using...

Swollen and broken glow plug. Oh man. Its the a.c. delco 60g that everyone here seems to like. All the others came out fine. Had 3 different brands in there. Trying the trick to pull out the end through the injector hole but ran out of daylight. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

My rear diff did that for a bit after I put a new Detroit locker in there. Then one day there was a big big clunk and its worked normally ever since. I atributted it to getting stuck on burrs left from manufacturing, until they wore/broke off. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Washers from the wipers completed: You do have to drill 1 hole next to the passenger wiper to feed the hose through. Make sure you get all the burrs off. Also male sure you get official vatozone washer tube not random from the house tube so that it doesnt leak all over...
