    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

The BC-325 weighs almost 900 pounds. It did not get the nickname 'refrigerator' by accident (or maybe it did when someone got crushed). It was rated at 100 watts voice or 400 watts CW (Morse Code). I have a Ten-Tec Omni that can beat those specs which only weighs 30 pounds with power supply...

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

Nah, not today, yesterday it was raining. That info dropped into my lap because I'm on a radio forum.

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

It's the first file on that page, page 24 (adobe page 27) and from the ruler in the lower right hand corner, the BC-325 is 32 inches wide and 66 inches tall. We can safely assume it is 12 to 16 inches deep, and the finish is a glossy black crinkle paint. As I find more details, I'll post back...

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

A good place to search for what trailers looked like in the 1930's is old National Geographic Magazines (from that time period). Many of the models were basaically unchanged through the 1950's except on some trim items. The basic structure would not have changed much, with the interior layout...

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

The BC-325 can get up into the CB frequencies, but it's about 395 watts to much power to be street legal on those channels. That being said, I can remember a radio tech sitting next to me operating on the CB channels with a Collins 10KW transmitter, at full power! We were playing with an...

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

Heard from a fellow that used to own a BC-325 about 20 years ago. He said: Two more things that I forgot to add last night. The trailer is powered by a PE-75 generator set. So could be operated while the vehicle was in motion. The transmitter is powered by a GN-42-(*) generator which is...

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

I found some stuff on the elusive BC-325 today. It's 3.5 ft wide, 2 ft thick (front to back), and six feet high, with a weight of 900 pounds! Operates on the 1.5 to 18 MHz band, 400 watts CW, 150 watts voice, range 1000 miles. Replaced by the SCR-299 transceiver BC-610, which had similar...

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

Found a halfway decent writeup on the SCR-197, unfortunately the best link for better info was taken down for 'possible copyright infringement'. That BC-325 is a BIG box, but knowing what it looks like, I'm sure we can fab up something with all the knobs, dials, and switches to make a...

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

One is in a fairly good leather case, three are in the canvas cases (used in the Pacific Theater, since leather rotted in the jungles), and one has no case at all. Get with PB via PM to see what he wants to do.

And if you go forward a page or two from the link given, you will see two of the trailers in the picture. One from the front and the other from the passenger side.

Adam is supposed to be picking up my engine-in-a-can and dropping off some battery boxes with Reckless. Is he headed back this way after that?

BB has visited the neighborhood more than once, maybe he took a side trip while you were distracted.

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

Both BD-71's were made under a Philadelphia-43 contract, by the same company "Leich Electric Company". One of them came complete with a photocopy of the Dutch translation of the operator's manual.

Here's a picture of the BD-71 and three EE-8's. When the money's right, they move.

Let me see if I still have some leather bag EE-8's, I know I have the WWII correct BD-71 (I have two, one does not have a working bell).
