An unmounted 395/85R20 next to the stock tire size, hence my (edited) call out of greater flotation (see below). I really, really don't want to mount/unmount/remount any rubbers that size if I don't have to...
Are 395/85R20s a thing on SEEs? I need to get new tires at some point. I like the idea of the additional flotation of the bigger (edit: wider) tires. I don't really care about road speed, but I don't want something on there that's just gonna rub like crazy.
Another option I was looking at...
I had issues with cooler on back of mine at first, too. There's a place on the fans, under a shroud/cover where the wires come together for the 2 fans. It's right there at/on the fan housing. I took that cover off, cleaned up the slight oxidation on the terminals, and it started working great. I...
I have no interest in nor involvement with colony tire out of Norfolk, VA other than having bought several sets of tires from them over the years for my M37, M35A3, and SEE. They're very reasonable and have an amazing selection. And if by some chance you can't find the tires you need on their...
A few thoughts:
A SEE can handle the temperature extremes. So long as you have good batteries and the aux fans are working as they should. In 3 years of using mine, I've never had any issues starting it due to temps. And I have never even thought of using the ether injector in cold...
Yes, that same model (whatever is "intended" to come with the HMMH). I've been hella impressed with it breaking loose some things that otherwise would probably still be stuck together. And equally terrified by it's shear destructive abilities when used without due care. YMMV.
They're out there for sure. I too snaggd one n eBay 2-3 years ago
As with any tool - and especially with tools such as this - take care in its use. Personally I go Very easy with it, if I use it at all on a lot of jobs. I've broken an M35 lug with mine. Sheared it clean off. Other things too...
I was stunned the first time I pulled my M35A3 (sideways on asphalt - complicated unload of M35A3 in a tight spot) with my SEE. It was like the M35A3 wasn't even back there.
It was nice that it had all the "ass" (and then some) for the job but also sobering to learn just how careful one must...
One thing you'll find about SS is that folks are helpful, open and curious. I've asked a lot of "dumb" questions myself and have never been pooped on. Speaks volumes to the awesome community.
With that said, I'd like to offer a thought:
The Germans put a Lot of thought into machinery, with...
Sounds like you're in much the same boat I was (many of us were) when we first got our SEEs... a bit of uncertainty with some things half-working/unknown...
Best advice I can give you:
1)Be Patient.
2)As you discovered, RTFM. They're actually very good&informative.
3)These machines need...
When first starting out I had the same questions about the fan assembly on the back (among plenty of other questions). I think the first time it turned on for me it was around 50F ambient. But I wasn't all that surprised, mainly because I had an idea of what to expect.
They are loud. I learned...
If I'm not mistaken, you want to have a bucket and pins for a 580A through J. I think at K it changes (so M, N, ... won't work). Don't quote me on K, but there is a change in there. If you have a local Case dealer, call them, they'll be able to tell you.
Just a bit of self-clearancing 🙂
Every time I see those tires and wheels.... Love 'em!
You know wheel specs for offset, depth and diameter, bolt pattern? Assuming I somehow can't find another set of mine sweeper wheels... 🤪
I could probably get Stockton wheel to make a set. I love the set of...
