What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

So on Friday, I drove from about the center of Virginia to Boston. Saturday back home to VA, then today to Agusta GA. Total distance traveled is a bit over 2052 (pulling over for fuel adding a bit but negligable). In another thread I had erroneously reported 28mpg. Looking back on the day I did...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Took the truck on its first 3+ hour dive. 75mph on the highway no issue, after return this all fluids, bolts, ect are still good to go. Only downside is passing other vehicles is typically reserved for downhill lol

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Klever R/T 17in wheel and 32in tire advertised as AT/MT Reviews looked good, so far I am VERY happy with them. Great traction in the snow and ice, even has spots for the sutds if ya got them (and they are allowed). Since the truck is my daily, I wanted something quieter than the Wrangler 2s so...

12 inches of snow here an lots of down trees. Took it on the first real challenge since we got it an the truck did EXCELLENT. able to pull off the road for others to pass and just go right through the wall of snow made by the plows. Never even got close to stuck.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Got the heater/blower to work. Part of the electrical fried itself and melted the waire in half. I saw that when I bought it but only recently got around to working on it and totally forgot, so I spent an hour fumbling around with a multimeter and reading schematics. The melt was just before...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Wish I read this sooner. They had a new one at Napa an I just installed it this morning. New starter purrs as she winds down and gets the engine going in one revolution. :) Now to figure out why there is a grind for a split second when I'm over 35 mph and go to accelerate...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Tires an wheels showed, new LED headlights to replace the halogen as well. After finishing all that I go to turn it over and hear the sound of welding. Confused I check the bay and found no damage or burns... So I set up the phone to record as my second pair of eyes. Sparks coming from left...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

So I have new wheels + tires showing up for the 1009. 17in wheels with 32in AT tires so I can use it more as a daily driver as I currently have the 16.5 in wheels with the 37in Wrangler 2s on there... Question is this, should I drop the suspention back down? Or leave it at 6in so I can more...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Ill probably end up taking it to someone... the more I grind out the rust the more I find stuff like this. The paint is just to keep the fresh metal safe until I figure out if I want to chance fixing it myself, and investing in a MIG. On the bright side, I have a drain to easily hose out the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

While I paitently await the arrival of the new headlight assembly, I decided to attack the rust spots. The major bits (such as wheel wells and rocker panels) will just be replaced in the future. Wire wheel followed up with 80 grit sandpaper and rust converter to get all the rust out, then bondo...
