What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Truck’s fuel lines were sucking air and I tracked it down to a few cracked flexible lines. Pulled the fuel tank selector valve out to replace the 6 fuel lines attached and the large filter to pump line. Built/assembled all the lines/fittings tonight, will hopefully get the ‘stock’ lines off the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Blew up the truck. Well, in a rush I accidently let the battery terminal drop on the wrong battery lug. Big spark, now no power. Would one of the firewall mounted circuit breakers blow first or would it be the Power Control Box?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Not sure yet if there is good news or bad news. I dropped the injectors and turbo off at a diesel injector/turbo rebuild shop and he said the #3 injector (my problem cylinder) is pretty bad. He said the nozzle hole is way too big, looks like water damage and was dumping way too much fuel which...

Here are a couple photos from today, finally pulled the last injector. Hopefully they are rebuildable and the cause of my issues.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I don't have any photos of me using it but I will try to remember to take one tomorrow when pulling the 6th injector. Its a M12x1.5 metric lug nut welded to a bolt with a nut and washer and a short length of 1" black pipe. I would have liked to use a Grade 8 bolt but the bolts at Lowes were...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Made this 'tool' (homemade injector puller) and pulled 5 of the 6 injectors out of the 8.3 6CTA. Have to let the 6th soak a bit more before it'll come out.

Does anyone have an injector puller/injector removal tool I can borrow for Cummins 6cta (M939a2)? Photo for attention purposes.

Not me lol. $428 for one lightbar is expensive enough for this guy!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Looks like it would make a great grab handle somewhere. I'm sure you'll find a use for them.

Getting a little further on my center "jump seat"/battery box. Have all the fab'ed parts in paint, drying.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Removed by passenger seat/battery box and narrowed it as part of my next project. Got the bottom piece cut, next will be the seat bottom and seat back.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I have similar thoughts. Narrow down the stock passengers' seat into a one-person center jump seat to hold 2 batteries and 2 air-ride seats.
