WOW!!! Never seen something like that happen before. Guess it's good these old trucks don't have all of the plastic and sound deadening stuff, so nothing to catch fire.
Mine had slot head screws. When I was replacing the solenoid, I managed to drop one and after 45 minutes of looking, I gave up. Since the slot heads were not a standard type screw (they were thicker), I decided to replace them with cap head screws. Nice thing about this is I could sneak a tee...
Already removed the heater and pass side bench a couple weeks back and started removing wall panels in the M1010 this past weekend. One wall and roof to go.
I have been doing some different projects on my M1010. Installed some Jeep JK Wrangler seats on custom built brackets I made. Also installed a Gear Vendors OD and waiting for the driveshaft to be built. Need to wire that up. Hopefully will have that done this weekend.

Many times fuel gauge reading incorrectly but the sender ohms out okay can be traced to bad/missing/dirty grounds. Because fuel gauge relies on the resistance, if you have a bad/dirty ground, it will cause more resistance and hence read incorrectly. You should be able to verify the gauge is...
Spent time yesterday modifying the alternator adjusting bracket, since the "Plan B" alts are shaped a little different than factory. You could not rotate them all the way inwards, which made trying to get a belt that was short enough to not max out the adjustment but still be able to go over...
More work yesterday. My balancer installer came in. I actually used to install the new front seal. Got the balancer installed but still need to torque it. Got the re-cored radiator back and it's nice. Got it installed and then new hoses. I had picked up a NOS lower M1010 specific hose. It...
I doubt it. All gauges I have ever worked with always had a ground connector as many times they are mounted in something non conductive (i.e. the dash cluster). I know on my last M1010 when I converted it all to 12v, I took the original gauge out, cut the two connectors off the old gauge...
