I had re-enforced my bows a little so I thought they would be fine for the winter. That and I got lazy/preoccupied/etc. Well, Winter started off really mild, but we had a few surprises. Heavy rains plus freezing weather weighed down my cover and busted all the bows!
So I started "project raise...
Got those two brand new, great BIG, HEAVY 8D batteries squeezed into the battery boxes! Thank god for the engine crane! She cranks over with a quickness now.
Now to get to work on the bows and tarp, and to figure out how I'm going to install a power outlet for Cell Phone and GPS charging duties...

Hit a deer with my little truck. Used the tire crane on my Big truck to dress it out. He was just a lil nubber. We ate the tenders and the heart that night. Mmmmmmm.
Getting mine ready for Iola!
Got the bows and tarp on mine. Getting ready to hook the Deuce up to the tow bar for a trip to Iola this year. Now I have TWO of them to show off. One 'ol rusty but trusty and one really nice clean Deuce.
I'm afraid I really didn't DO anything TO my 5 ton... and I did promise my brother I wouldn't come home with "another Big Green Truck".... So brought home a smaller green friend for it!

3 months ago I siphoned the tank to keep the furnace running during the cold snap. Unemployement has been hard and I had to make short cuts and cut backs. dropping insurance and letting the plates expire on Big Green was just one of many such cuts.
While I still do not have a full time job...
I can definitely relate to the gear jamming. I choose My M813a1 for that reason. Wish I could have a few more gears to shift through! Nice to see You're still putting your truck to work. :-)
NICE crane crewcab454! I wish I had a bit more reach. But I did get this crane to load/unload tires. What's the size of your plates? Got any close up pics of the install yet?

4th pic is how it sits when the cover is on and the crane lays on its side. I think I need a cover to keep water out of it.
Oh yea.... weight. I found a 500lb crane for less, but the 16x21's I had picked up earlier were 500 ea. and I didnt want to max out my crane just lifting my spare. So I opted for the 2000lb crane shipped to the door for less than $500. I had the 12x18x 3/4" plate laying around. That helps spread...
