Rick,
I think you may be losing your "Clout", or maybe your "Reputation" at your truck dealership. They should have come to you first for some simple repair advise before they decided to do a "hack job".
These young mechanics now-a-days know it all and don't need us olé-timers anymore.
Looks like a M116A3 "the green one in the back" towards the bottom of the pile. That one should be lighter duty and have the surge brakes your looking for.
You may have water in the system. Hydraulic fluid doesn't expand or compress but water does when it freezes. My Kubota hydraulic fluid always has water in it when I change it. Look for a hidden drain plug lowest point on the underside.
I've owned a B 2150 "9 speed standard" since the late 80s. Bought it new with the bucket, hard cap, front mount snow blower, tiller, and 9" post hole auger. I think its one size larger than your 7100. I love mine so much the wife says she will use it to burry me when I go.
You got me nervous Rick so I ordered one from Amazon to keep as a spare for my trucks. A few dollars more that you paid but it said only 2 left "now only 1 left".
