What did you do to your deuce this week?

cummins7, all you need to do is make up part numbers and assign an insane price and it will be just like something the government would have purchased, very nicely done!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Ahab, is that an AA meeting, in this case it is "Automobiles Anonymous"; Hi I'm Craig and I haven't bought a vehicle for 2 months........ (no disrespect to AA intended what so ever.) But I can truly understand "whataduece" and being in Southern Washington I was looking at the aerial photo and...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

"They are nothing more than lengths of pipe, in a way, but just with airfoils added where needed." Now that sounds like you are describing a can of "Red Bull" even the blue and silver in your picture backs it up.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Wow, I didn't mean to de-rail this thread with a mention of Safety Wire but I have to say I sure enjoyed the stories, brought back lots of memories. Only 3 years working on UH-1 Helicopters (Hueys) in the Army but it has had a lot of influence on my life.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Ahab, you posted about the consistent twists for nice looking safety wire work, it can be done by hand but pliers like these make it much easier if your are going to be doing very much. Not real expensive either but not much use for anything but their intended purpose.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

In some cases it isn't too crazy to buy some cross drilled head bolts and safety wire as done on aircraft to keep thing from "flying" apart.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Ahab, that looks like what I need, think it is like JB Weld but you are right is will eliminate the liquid problems of epoxy resin and most likely stronger because the liquid resin would be too much space between bonded surfaces. That will be a nice reasonably priced experiment. Regardless it...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Privatewrench, I never though of a steering wheel cover and at $20 it would be on par with the cost to epoxy the cracks, sanding, using tape or something to make a form and of course one at a time since the epoxy will want sag/flow until it sets up. I will look into that. I did find one for...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Finally got the rest of the stuff out of the back of my Deuce (wheels/tires, a jeep transmission/transfer case, jeep differentials, leaf springs) and cleaned out the dirt and spilled oil that was making "super mud" that didn't allow rain water to drain out. Making a 3 point turn that was more of...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

tobyS; I too have tested positive for the "cheap gene" or was it I wear "cheap jeans", regardless I hear you.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I will try the pressure washer, your results speak for themselves. I have no actual "rust" issues except for the beginning surface rust and am looking to make it look nice while providing a layer of corrosion protection while I work on other aspects. At some time in the past someone decided the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Privatewrench, your before picture looks just like my bed except it isn't a drop side but the paint condition, white residue from the Ospho and brush strokes are the same, your after photo inspires me that a little more work and it may not be perfect but will look fantastic for a military...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Mrmag1, you just discovered the M35 anti-theft device that isn't listed in the TM. It works pretty good doesn't it.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Finally fitted the hard top I purchased about 4-5 years ago on to my Deuce, it will take several more fittings to get it just right, the dents out and it properly sealed to the weather, but I am very happy with and how well it fits. Minor adjustment to the door window glass will make the doors...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Must be tire day, just started switching tires and wheels around to get kinda good tires the truck and rolling stock on trailers that really aren't going anywhere for awhile. That is a 22.5 rim and tire on the trailer, I have a total of 13 of them which I plan to have powder coated and mount...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

mann650, if you pick up an M105 trailer you could name it "half" so together you have a "Zeus &a Half", I am glad you have kids to share your toy with, very cool.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Finally I am moving mine from Southern California to Washington. It isn't the adventure I imagined but it is getting done. to move it myself I was going to take a week off and my son was too, but he just changed jobs and I also started working again so time was an issue. i am sure this is a...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I am leaning toward the way Rustystud did his, but would like to be able to have a redundant ability to pump to the engine or the other tank, just playing with ideas until I have the truck back where I can work on it. California fuel prices are crazy, like a dollar a gallon more than Oregon or...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The tank is mounted but not connected yet, I got a really good deal on the tank and brake lever and quickly mounted/installed them to not have loose pieces laying around but moved out of California before I got everything done. The mounting is just like the original one except the filler is at...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

For what is worth, I swapped out the whale tail P-brake lever for the twist to adjust knob handle P-brake lever. I am happy with it, but routing the cable was a real chore, made worse due to the fact I added second 50 gallon fuel tank on the drivers side and removed the spare tire carrier and...
