Wow, that's a hike from us... 2 hours at least... Going to have to check the place a little closer to home.

I only said my wife doesn't care for their chicken. The Jesus biscuits are okay, as long as they are hot. And as to being southern food, you don't find them in the northwest. Well, Crackerbarrel is in Idaho, but no one really goes there... Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Well, besides missing some of the standards from the NW, we did find that the South loves chicken. More chicken places than burger places and seafood places. Every chicken place is different. But 99% of the chicken is fried, which is okay. Can't find a decent seafood place, even for something...

So, we've been here a couple years now. I remember most of the route. It was fun. Never want to do it with dogs again unless I have a larger rig so they have room to roam some. Yeah, went by Lake Erie (who thought Cleveland was such a big deal?) just because I was dropping some stuff off at a...

Guess what? We're only about 10 hours away from our new place. Its been a fun trip. Spent 4 days on South Dakota seeing pretty much EVERYTHING! But since then, it's been pedal to the metal, with only a few scheduled, and a couple unscheduled stops along the way. Currently in Strasburg, OH.

Dang, that was a fun trip! And the decision was made to relocate there. Started the process to rent an apartment already. It really seemed that signs were there to keep us there. Flying in there were no issues. Flying out, was another story. FLights to Texas were being canceled right and left...

Yes, Boots on the ground, May 30 to June 2. Should be a fun time with SWMBO.

Boots on the ground is currently set, not in stone, for the last weekend in May. Possible needs for a bunk while there, but that isn't set either. Nothing wrong with a Motel 6, if they remember to leave the light on...

Shouldn't be an issue. If I do get another steel soldier, it would be limited to a CUCV or M998.

The area we are leaning towards is Summerville. The schools appear decent and the house prices reasonable compared to the Charleston/North Charleston area. Of course, compared to where we live now, that actually have nice houses for sale in our price range. Here, we only have fixers or teardowns.

But livability. And other fun things. I mean, food is important, but there's more to living there.

Yes, we have a 12 year old. But either way, we would want to know where not to go.

I was really hoping to get more information. Seems to be an LAV size number of people from SC here, but.... Please, need way more information. I may, or may not be making a recon trip in February to scope out neighborhoods and the like. So please, places to avoid, places to go. And I mean...

Without contacting the utilities there, what is the water like? Hard/Soft? Acidic/Alkaline?

We noticed the price difference in the houses out in Summerville already. WOW! And it is within the travel, commute range, for Boeing. Kinda figured that Charleston itself would be kinda mucky, being so close to the ocean and all. From all the listings I've read, are termites the state bird or...

So guys, Thinking of moving about 3000 miles east. Someplace in the Charleston, SC area, Boeing. So tell me the good, the bad, the ugly. Kinda need to know where to look for homes, where to stay away from. Big plus is 30-45 minute commute from Boeing. This is information only. Moving is not a...
