Sylvan Lake Prairie Motor Brigade 2019
For the third year, convoys of history rolled out of the barns and safely down highways, this year to the little town of Sylvan Lake. It's a central location in Alberta that allows the north and south one weekend to gather each year. The last two years the...
June 8, 2019 Onoway Parade,
The first time we drove the M1010 Adventures into this town almost a decade ago, only two other MV's showed up. The local MVPA has been showing up in volumes since that first parade and 2019 was even better. The M923 was there and even won a trophy, more on that...
Edmonton Military Base Extra Rare EMBER
Canada Day 2018 Convoy, tracks, trucks, MP's and family.
Got sidetracked from the Green iron a bit this year but when a good soul offers you a Parade ride in a M923, you take a camera!
This M923 from Minnesota, driven to Alberta in January...
1st Annual Prairie Motor Brigade in Red Deer Alberta
Only the bravest hockey fans go to Winnipeg in the winter. Keep us posted on your schedule.
It's so busy we didn't have time to build a shower to go in like they do at other rallies.
The trailer carried the jeeps 100 miles to Red Deer...
1st Annual Prairie Motor Brigade in Red Deer Alberta
I should have posted this sooner so our Texas buddies had a better place to go for the Harvey Hurricane Weekend. We're thinking about you folks.
After coordinating a pile of shows this year, I'm taking tomorrow off and hauling 2 old jeeps to...
Lockheed Ventura twin engine bomber
This will become a road trip story shortly so I'm going to drop the info here instead of the aircraft forum. This aircraft may never fly again but it won't be for a lack of effort. The original story of this Ventura and the energy placed into preserving her...
July 15th and 16th Alberta Rail Museum
A few more choo choo pics. Real proud of my Endura brother donating the paint for many projects. I thought our hobby was expensive but one of these trains will take 135 gallons of oil for an oil change so we've got it pretty good.
July 15th and 16th Alberta Rail Museum
We had a trainload of fun at the Alberta Railway Museum.
Part of the Convoy met at the end of Namao's runway where B-29's once launched. http://wayback.archive-it.org/2217/20101208165515/http://www.abheritage.ca/aviation/history/military_namao.html...
Most of those units are in the pictures on this thread. The only additions will be a few more oddity Iltis boys, maybe a few more LSVW camping units, one real nice Bren Gun carrier that the Reserves are trailering in...and possibly a 5 Ton from the U.S. We'll be sure to get pictures.
July 15th and 16th Alberta Rail Museum
After months of planning with various museum boards......we got our act together and the show is this weekend, July 15/16, 2017. I'll stick next years dates in the "Upcoming Events" forum once confirmed. Maybe some of our Steel Soldiers will tie your...
Steel Soldier Terrh just got back from a road trip to Jasper and sent this picture. There's enough snow in the mountains that we can grab Dogheads Zamboni, flood a spot and get a quick game going!
Canadian Army Commander
We got to see it being re-built this winter and the owner was ripping around, displaying it's awesome abilities. Wacky history indeed.
Display 2
This is probably the most prestigious photo of the day. One of our CCDMA/ MVPA members was close to the town of Breton and...
Canada Day 150th Display 1 North Edmonton
With parties everywhere and the mood festive, respective and light, the MVPA affiliates were ACTIVE at many locations. Edmonton Garrison hosted a very fun filled, family based event which we'll call display 1. I know you boys like your ladies so these...
We need to bring that picture front and center. I missed the Papa Bear logo on the hood. Thanks for pointing it out! These rally racing warriors are as entertaining as any demolition derby out there. I can always ask if they have one more car.
Had a long shadow, early morning call to stage 2 1/2 hours before the start of the Stony Plain Heritage Days Parade today. The organizers finally put us with the regular forces so had a chance to get a few pics of some current gear and mingle with the troops.
Can't say enough about the local...
It's funny because I should know more about the folks that actually kicked the museum off in the first days. In 94' I delivered materials for the display cabinets and snapped a photo of my 72' Chev sitting in front of the Avro Anson but was too busy to become heavily involved with operations...
Pic # 6 our Daisy Mae
Let's finish this up before I forget. Picture # 6 is a remake of the B-25 my good buddy Terry Champion drove into the hanger that the Alberta Aviation Museum currently resides in.
Daisy Mae is as complete as any static B-25 can be so here are a few extra pics to top off...
I'll roll out the info on pics 2,3 and 4 since you kids aren't playing. The others are going to require some input because of their incredibly deep military history and some of you boys should already know what they are.

I cheated a little on the DC-6 however this flight simulator...
I wish we had some CMP's on the road. The few that are around are either locked in the barns or still waiting restoration. One of the local MVPA boys grabbed a couple last year and was on the list as the next project.
Here are a few photos on pic #2.....
