Tom,
Prayers for your wife's speedy recovery. The Goat is important but no where near as important as the wife and grandkids. And if you get finished then what would you have to do?
Glad you're feeling better. I was down probably 8 of the last 10 weeks so know it sucks being sick.
Goat head is 170-180. I know that as my torque wrench only went to 150 and had to borrow one.
Glad to see you guys are both making progress. I'm delivering mine to it's new owner on Saturday. Another retired Army NCO who drove them in Germany and is under the assumption that'd it'd be fun to work on one :)
Nothing set in stone yet. I figured the deuce would be the 1st to go as the LMTV would be it's direct replacement. Problem is I have my eye on an extremely nice M1078 and might need to lose both of them to afford it.
Glad it could be of use. Mine is hovering on the auction block at the moment. Trying to decide if things would be better (meaning me being able to do events with less physical effort) with a LMTV instead of the Goat and if it swings that way the Waffle House Express will need to move on down...
Guess that means you won't be bringing it to the Brent Mullins event in March :) You could always bring the Mule. Not near as far as bringing it down to my place. Ok if you can't make Mullins you need to be at the Temple Air Show in May. You should have everything done by then, right?
Hope your trip in to town was productive. I think the schedule for your goat will speed up once you really get in to it. It's tough not to spend way more time (and money) on them than you start out thinking.
Looks good! I can't tell you how many of my vanes are broken or bent to the point they'd break if I tried to bend them back. Still not sure what to do with my hinge to try and get it to fit. Maybe you can figure it out when you're over.
My hood is tweaked to the point it doesn't line up and is difficult to close. Not sure what to do about it since I don't have a parts vehicle to pick from. Doubt I can find a spare hood around here any where.
