My guess is the 1" one is optimized for use on railroad tracks.
The Cog railroad up Mt Washington in NH that was built in the 1860s has been upgrading their fleet and they built a special car for track maintenance, they reportedly use all Stanley hydraulic tools. Their tracks are custom with...
Wow, pretty rare, although at least one guy claimed he bought a recapped one at auction and the tools and accessories were still sealed in the tool boxes. Did it come with the ultra rare long stroke hydraulic bottle jack? Those seem to disappear quickly.
Do note there are mixed opinions on...
They are all Stanley Hydraulic Systems tools with green paint on them. Be careful there are a lot of the stanley tools that did not come with SEEs from the electrical power transmission trade.
One thing to track down is a spare tire and rim. There is place in VA that sells that size Pirelli on Ebay. The trick with rims is they have to be disk brake rims. Unless you have a hoist, one person is not going to be able to lift tire and rim in place. In pinch one person can get it out and on...

Remote Throttle and Auxiliary tools - Chasing down a fault | SteelSoldiers Probably want to skip the hydraulic fluid shower ;) Having gone through it I can guess what wire is disconnected as the routing is not great.
I do want to emphasize that...
FLU farm could be right, mine is definitely not a recapped unit and I have had to work on the throttle linkage and replace parts. I also do not recognize the device attached to the engine cover that looks like a handle. I also do not have the shift range sticker.
I am only 5'10 and I think its cramped in there !.
That has to be a recapitalized unit as it looks like new. Yup you got the rare hein werner ripper bucket. Its a beefy rig. I saw reference somewhere that they only came with the stock bucket and if anyone in the army tried to order one, they...
Looking good from here. Looks like new paint on the front bucket. Did it come with any hydraulic tools (jackhammer, drill and chainsaw)? I would be interesting if you got the standard bucket or the optional ripper bucket. Post a few more pictures including one from the back.
The hood looks...
A strong recommendation is to get the high resolution file from the Misc technical manual forum instead of the two part version in the student handout. Speaking of the student handout, you do want to get the smaller schematic that shows the rear deck wiring from the handout as that is not on the...
I think the problem is, if the new boot does not have an air connection, then the turning on the valve is not going to make a difference. I guess I need to crawl under my SEE once the snow melts as I did not know there was an air connection on the boot ;)
There is big experience base on Benzworld on the 400 series models and the same axles were used on the SBU series. it would be worth doing some searching on how others do it.
Unless you plan to be "fordng" with your SEE, its best to disconnect the pressurization system. Its fed low pressure air from a pressure regulator that if it fails, supplies full pressure to the system and will blow out the seals on the portals.
I have not done the repair but I have seen references to people using split boots for replacements. The original does not have a seam. The replacements have molded seam that is held together with hardware and sealed with silicone...
FYI, the STE ICE harness is not on the electricla diagram and is not needed to run the SEE. It was obvioulsy added on post factory. Good luck on new harness install. My guess is you may need to lift the cab to get it installed.
Yup, I think I was the one long ago that flagged this issue. Texas and the Red River arrmy depot seems to be a common location for this damage.
I think I had more chewed wires than you. I did my repairs without the benefit of the wiring diagram which thankfully one of the Steel Soldiers members...
Broken Record TIme, Get the manual and do the point by point inspection of the vehicle, you will learn a lot and maybe catch a few major issues (like portal axles that need gearoil)
Mine was that way until recently when I got the hydraulics working and had a geyser of fluid spraying anything within about 20 feet. If I can find a place that will do it, I plan to have them cut the weather section off and crimp on new ends.
