What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Remove the sending unit from the fuel tank. It probably has a ton of corrosion on the sliding contact. Usually GM tank sending units only last ten years tops before acting up. I just replace them.

I bought the "King Pin Spring" eliminator kit too. Just haven't installed it yet. I think most of the "Death Wobbles" come from this defective part.

Thanks "cucvrus" . I didn't even think about the differences between the truck and blazer models. We had a great Thanksgiving today to ! Got a little sick eating to much though ! I've been on a diet for two months trying to drop 50 Ibs for my hernia surgery. So when I ate what I would normally...

Mine did that too. I found the latching mechanism had "slipped" a tooth so they where out of sync with each other. It is just a long wire which pulls the other latch, and mine got bent a little. Probably due to sticking stuff under the seat. After measuring the latch positions and putting them...

Install the 383Hi-torque in your truck. You'll be amazed at the power and torque this engine has to handle heavy loads like that. I took out my 6.5L diesel, sold it and bought the Hi-Torque engine. Best engine choice I ever made. Of course if I could have afforded a DuraMax with an Allison...

I remember when I was young and the family car ( a 1951 Buick) rolled over the Odometer. My dad stopped the car and we had a small celebration on the side of the road ! Back then it was something to have your car go over 100,000 miles and still be running ! Now no one thinks twice about it.

My wife has several "air cans" !!! Besides the ones she keeps in the car. Another thing she does which really cracks me up is when she goes for a walk she talks really load saying "Go away Bear ! Go away Cat ! Like the bears and Cats can understand her :p ! Of course she might be right and I'm...

Last week my son and I saw a mountain Lion walk into my neighbors property. Of course we see that same mountain Lion around here a lot. Really don't like it much when he strolls down our driveway ! Freaked out my wife last month.

I never heard of the "MVPA TMC19 Lincoln Highway Convoy" . Where was this at ? Looks like a desert area.

Civilian models had the cab light above the rear window and the floor lights. At least we have the floor lights. I was thinking about adding a cab light at one time. To much trouble trying to run a wire through the cab walls.

That explains a lot ! I always "assumed" my light connections where bad ! My civilian trucks work fine but my CUCV never worked.

I think that is the best idea letting a pro handle it. That is what I would do on such a sensitive area. The last thing you need is fuel leaking all over the place ! Mine was a bumper and who cares if it leaks.

Buy a quality plastic welder and lots of extra plastic rod to practice with. I bought a medium quality one which worked OK, but for quality work I needed a better welder. Also you will need lots of practice to get a good weld. I spent a lot of time with mine to finally get the quality and look I...
