There are several small bulbs (194/168) on the back of the gauge cluster. When all are lit, you can see all parts, fuel, speedometer, etc. The ammeter has it's own bulb, so does the heater control panel. I replaced all of mine with Blue LED's and it looked great.

Damn, that seems like a tough nut to crack ! I have had VW's for the past 37 years. When I tried to rotate the tires on my first Jetta, I had a hell of a time trying to get the wheel bolts off. After that I use anti-seize on every bolt or stud I come across AND the back of the wheel where it...

Yup. Removing that suppressor was one of the first, and easiest things I did when I got the truck. Didn't do much, but it did help a little.

jplace1011, I have redone my wiper system, including a new motor, adding another ground, new arms, blades etc. My wipers move at the same speed as yours in that video (and they did the same thing on my other 1009 too). I think, like Rick said, the motor just isn't the most powerful in Chevy's...

A little bit of a rough ride using those steel wheels, but it would be "different" !! And thanks for the offer, but as for needing them up in CT, if I bring home any more "yard art" the wife said she will lock me out !

Looks like a few folks went parts hunting on that one. Hell, they even took the radiator and the battery trays !!

LOL ! Thanks for the vote of confidence Rick, but I'm not convinced of that at all. I am muddling through and once this fusion fully heals, I'll be back crawling around, under and in my M1009. Once the new radiator is installed, it's a full exhaust and tires. After that, she should be good...

Nice fabrication work Rick. Way back when, some of our CUCV's, running out in the big sand, ran full length flaps across the back, attached under the bumpers to try and keep the dust down (useless, but a good attempt). Some had adapted Hummer flaps for both the front and rear wheel wells. I...

From CUCV's to a Tank. Not a bad leap. Restore the interior with a few modern touches, update the drive train and clear the body, keeping the rust. That thing will scare anyone on the road, with the exception of some hardy long haulers !

I have one on the back of my truck. Definitely lightweight, but I don't haul much anyway. It will handle my little #2000 capacity trailer when carrying my Ingersoll 6018 just fine.
