Thinking of a design change to a drop deck in front of the axles on the one I'm building ( very slowly). I could step down about 12-14" and keep the CG lower. Axles (tandem) are from m105 with 19.5 duals, 31" tall tires. Gvw about 17,000, so could haul deuce.
The deuce 4x4 gooseneck has ball...
Can it be used to charge a trailer set of batteries? What could limit the flow (amps) so it does not burn up? Like for batteries on a dump trailer or ??
Nice job. They really are a useful trailer. Sounds like your having fun with the fishing.
Check out the tongue. "In progress" is when I discovered the 3" was not thick enough and I needed shims.
Kflash....."Any idea of the size I need?"
Why not just take the cap off and measure the diameter of the shaft. Since you know it's missing, you must have access. Most hardwares have thin machine washers.
It better not or I'll have an axle that won't stay where it should. At that place the steel is 1/2" thick (two thicknesses of 1/4"). The frame is 11" deep right there. As I drilled out of the hole the bits catch, so easily broken. Going through one plate into the other, one can tell the...
I'm using an M105A2 bed on the back of my M35A3 4x4 and have two different dimensions for the center of the wheel well to the back of the bed (not including gate). I have 53" in one place and 50" in another. I have not picked up the 105 yet to go measure it myself.
Can someone please...
Buffalobwana, have you ever made rock walls with stones like that? I bought a (Lowes) small cement mixer just for the purpose. They looked at me funny when I wanted a trailer with 1/2 pea gravel and half washed sand at the pit. I hope your rocks were not dumped out of a loader....dented my...
I'll be happy to sent you some of our cold weather to really test your endurance. We'll just slice off another piece of that polar vortex for ya and send it your way.
Short for "free backing". The (surge) brakes release when the trailer is pushed backward, where normally without such a thing, one would have to put the locking pin in prior to backing up (which these trailers are not equipped with normally). Some surge brakes have an electric solenoid lock...
Yea, I know about the freeback. But I don't have the hydraulic line replaced yet and brakes bled.... yet still want to move around and don't want it pushing on the master cylinder. Parts inside had suffered bending before i got the trailer. I have made all straight again and knew the line...
My M1101 didn't have any holes for a lock out bolt at all....so I drilled and put one in that stops the main shaft. There really is only one good spot to drill on the 1101 brake actuator that is apparent when it's apart.
They have went up so far in price because they are such nice trailers. Your's looks new.... it doesn't begin to show 20K. Nice work SB. It's nice to have a secure and water tight cover. Enjoy!
Taking 4" more from the height at the frame/axle may be in my future, I want it as low as...
We have some 5x5 x 1/2" that does seem closer to 7/16". The pockets are short so we take out the weld mostly with a grinder and sometimes open it up a little. Sure, a broach would be good too. edit...be careful of the corners. Some can have a long radius and that won't work on the outside...
