I got my Deuce back on the road for the first time in about a year. I had a main brake line burst last fall and decided to completely overhaul the brake system. All new lines (hard and soft), new wheel cylinders, rebuilt airpacks (it's a split system), replaced the MC, and went through all...
Hey Scar, don't feel bad, I wonder if it ever actually works, even if the documentation says it's supposed to. I'll move this discussion to my thread to not bloat this one more. Looks like it's based on a ground out on loss of pressure to illuminate, so maybe my switches on back of airpacks are...
I took the Deuce for a drive, towing my m116A3 trailer to pickup a rototiller from a friend. Had two "fun" things happen on the trip and now have a word of warning for late Model Air Force deuces.
Long story short, I developed a leak in the main frame line running back to my brakes for the...
Amazon! But I got the details from other fine fellows on this site. Iirc Rustystud mentioned it.
Its a curt 15800. It's class V so you'll need the sleeve adapter to neck down to 2" as well
Took advantage of some sunshine today to clean and paint things while I've got it apart for head gaskets. I've got a broken air plenum stud so I'm soaking it with PB blast and giving it plenty of time to work.
I tried this high temp Forest Green but think I'll go ahead and paint the valve...
Used it to pick up a 2 ton gantry from a local metal shop that didn't need it. The gantry will be used in general maintenance of truck but also when I pull the bed to strip and paint the frame thi s summer
Finally did the FDC bypass and found a I had a loose fitting on the turbo for the manifold heater that was causing me to lose some boost. , ( I think?) . The truck is running much better now, I can actually keep up with traffic in my area.
A question about the FDC bypass, what are folk using...
Nope this is pretty standard looking wood, nothing special in the figure or pattern that I've seen. Though I will have to resaw some of it so I might find a few gems. I'm making a double-wide tatami platform for a friend. hoping to use a new to me Japanese joint that doesn't require screws.
Yep to Hard and kiln dried , got it through Hardwood Industries, regional wood wholesaler. I get to shop there because we've got a woodworking group that has finagled an account.
Starter definitely. The weight wasn't really resting on my turbo, that was snug but more of a Just-In-Case safety...
New starter
I replaced the petcock on my secondary fuel filter housing. Ended up using a Schrader valve for a couple of days while waiting on a new petcock to arrive. 1/8" NPT Air tank drain is what I had to search for on the big A.
Also replaced the starter on my m35a2c yesterday with a...
I installed some ZIPnuts for my license plates (front and back) , replacing the self tapping sheet metal screws I'd used originally and started planning how to run the wire for the backup camera. The camera lens was masked before I painted it with RAPCO 383. I will lightly scrape the IR...
