Thank you for posting this up for all of us to see.

Gentlemen and ladies - we have lost a good troop and fantastic hobbyist. Although I never met Bill in person, we have known eachother frequently through the SS forums.... and now we mourn his passing.

I look forward to a special reunion of veteran SS Members when we reach our heavenly reward. I expect to see many of you there.

Does anyone have funeral service information at this time?

-

Heavenly Father,
We pray Your welcome of our brother Bill into Your heavenly kingdom. God, we know that heaven has streets paved with gold - We can only begin to imagine Your awesome off-road playgrounds! We know Bill is there now.
Lord, send Your Holy Spirit to those who grieve at his passing and bring them the faith, comfort, care and assurance that there really IS a place that is ever more grand than this into which we will will enter and live eternally with You. Help us all to accept that this life is but a wisp of air as compared to what is ahead for each of us. Give us what it takes to live this life in a way that one day we will hear You say: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
In Jesus name we pray.
AMEN.

Bill indeed touched the lives of many in a very positive way.

His smile and kindness will always be remembered.

He worked for a small company making antennas, I still have one of them in a box. When the day comes to install it, I will remember the great man that made it.

Thanks Bill, Rest In peace.

Just spoke with Bills wife, Bill requested that there not be any memorial service or funeral. Bill will be cremated and his ashes interred at the Veterans cemetery at Fort indiantown gap. Redball will be putting a memorial to bill on there website and will be making a donation in Bills name to the Transportation museum in Virgina.
The MTA will be doing something similar.
Thanks for all the wonderful reply's

Troops,
In a PM Scott has provided this info about Bill's final wishes:

FormerNewMVGuy said:
Thank you For your prayers, Bill requested that after he was gone that there be no obituary, no service , and no funeral. He will be cremated and his ashes interred at the Veterans Cemetary, at Fort indiantown Gap
As we respect those wishes, that there be no ceremony, I would suggest that you remember Bill in your own personal manner and in a way that will help you comfort your personal grief and tribute his life well lived.

I'd offer these suggestions:
- For those who can gather with others who loved Bill: Maybe a get together over some good food with the focus of conversation being Bill and your fondest memories of him.
- Donations in his memory to a charity of your choice. (We'll try to get an address for sending Memorial Donation Thank You Cards, maybe Scott can chime in that we might send cards c/o him for personal delivery. How about it, Scott?)
- Spend some quite time with God as you work on bringing your own MV up to a state of restoration that would meet Bill's outstanding standards... and/or: Start a "In memory of:" panel (possibly on the side of a cargo bed or door) listing those SteelSoldiers who have been promoted into eternity.
- And, never forget those who have gone through this minefield of life before us, follow in their footsteps, and do your very best to go even further this minefield than they were able to go.

There but for the grace of God goes each and every one of us. Let our lives be worthy in the end that we might hear God Almighty declare: "Well done, good and faithful servant."

May the Lord have mercy upon our souls.

John
