1966 m416

I am the proud new owner of a M416, and we are the same age. I am hoping to restore it to its original condition. It's missing the lunette ring, correct rims and tires and safety chains. On the other hand I'm missing half my brain, have incorrect vision and not the best teeth, and I am certainly not safe. The guy said all that stuff is at his parents in Atlanta and will retrieve it for me soonish. Otherwise if the parts never coalesce she will become and expedition trailer to mount a roof top tent on top, as well as a slide out kitchen ect, to drag out to Utah next year!

Praying lunette area isn't cut

The lunette area doesn't look cut to me, you will need the casting for it though. The hubs do not look stock, perhaps the axle was swapped.

Militarysurplusparts on ebay had some for sale. Midwest Military has them for 100 bucks more.

Some of the older Ford rims was a direct fit for those. The former owner of my first M151 had put those kind of rims and oversize tires on for his ''hunting buggy'' I wouldn't have minded so much but the **** cut the fenders for them to fit. Wayne

Its becoming few and far between on these trailers. They are very popular out west to off road enthusiasts and Jeep drivers. I've been looking for a while. Some people don't always know what they have; someone on CL sold a marine one kept in a barn for $150 the other day. I missed it by minutes! I got mine for $500. I did searches on CL in towns across the southeast. Not many on Eblat either. Some surplus businesses have em but they are pricey. Good luck and welcome to the addiction!

Could be an M100 axle but, it is definitely not a M416 axle. Could be that it is a civilian trailer axle and hitch casting. Bantam T3 and other civilian versions used a casting that was not for use with a lunette. If the axle does not have brakes then that may be the case. Civilian trailers didn't have brakes and had round fenders like the M100. If those are civilian trailer parts don't toss them as someone restoring an old civilian trailer could use them.
