FELLAS, its not a vacume pump ! it pressureizes the front & rear axle,trans,t-case,master cylinder and distributor. this is all part of the waterproofing for fording. it also makes the wipers work. if it made vacume it would suck water in these components but if there pressureized it will prevent water from entering. i dont mean to be rude but it hurts to see such fine trucks jack legged. this truck is better than any 70k$ truck made today and will last you your lifetime if taken care of. to be honest the engine you have is probably hurt so heres my suggestions.

install a bone stock sbc......
change out the t-case to a np202 or np205
replace the master cylinder with a "truck " split master cylinder
move battery under hood
change over to 12 volt
install a fsj bench seat
go 100% thru the brakes
clean, inspect all wheel bearings and relube them with hi-quality grease
change all fluids IE: TRANS,& DIFFS
make sure all grease fittings take grease and lube them every 2k miles (I highly recomend synthetic grease -amsoil)
change truck to power steering (you,ll be glad you did)

this will keep you busy for a while........
Ok let me get this straight, I'm a "jack leg" for swapping out the fuel pump to a civilian unit and electric wipers, yet keeping the rest of the truck stock. But your suggestion is to swap the motor, transfer case and a whole bunch of other things and that's OK. Talk about being a hypocrite.

CLEARLY theres alot of folk posting here that arnt very knoledgeable truely on this vehicle. .....stick with barrman he will guide you thru your truck "CORRECTLY" as it isnt his first rodeo and he isnt a jack leg. ...kwai is also top notch on m715,s
So Bob, since I was one of only three people that posted in this thread are you saying that I "CLEARLY" do not know what I am talking about? I take that as an insult. Or are you talking about the other two people? I guess you where insulting them also.

You are refering to one of us as a "jack-leg"

Lets see what that means:

Jack-leg
Half a$$ed or unprofessional. Not authorised or done while drunk. Someone who does a jack-leg job is called a jack.

Insulting other members is not allowed on this site. Do not do it again.

For some reason TexAndy's posts seem to be attracting a lot of negative waves. If this keeps up it's going to seriously harsh my mellow.

Looks pretty good! Let's see, truck's life starts as military transportation, then likely brush truck, then deer hunter Jeep, now collector's item. See if you can find any painted over numbers on the door like 69K1234 etc. My 715 came from San Antonio and it was Air Force. Maybe this one is too.

I'm not sure what all those disconnected lines are or go to. I think the cable disconnected coming through the firewall is the throttle cable.

Not sure what that device on the passenger seat is.

I'm guessing the lines disconnected on the passenger side of the engine up near the radiator have to do with the fuel pump.

Also, need to get a good welder to fix that crack on the hood. I'll be opening and closing it alot during restoration, so I don't want it tearing out even more.

The part on the pass seat is the correct master cylinder. The carburetor is incorrect. The dangling hoses are for the fuel/vacuum pump. Never seen the main data plate mounted to the battery box cover before.

Error: Remote file is too large.

Not that this has anything to do with the M715, but why is this an issue? The only thing I could find in that novel-length list of rules about photos and linking was not to link to auction site photos.
