m35a2 air tank drain

My air tank drain valve had something hard like dried mud
or a mud dabber bee nest. When I turned the valve to drain my air tank something hard shot out under pressure, with enough force to make my forearm bleed. Thank the lord it was not my eyes, so something to me mindful of.

Yep, those little mud dabber's do it to all my trucks. After I clean them out, spray a little wd-40 in there, seems to keep them out for a while.
M939 truck have 4 drains vertical and shot you in the left leg.

I also have the "puppet-string" drains on our Deuce. They are also slated to be installed on our XM-818 before she goes operational. (Still have a significant To-Do-List on that one.)

Whenever I am working under a vehicle I wear long sleeves. You never know what sharp-thangs you'll encounter reaching up into hidy-holes. AND WRAP AROUND SAFETY GLASSES. Gravity (or in your case AIR PRESSURE) can drop a whole spectrum of danger onto your personhood.

So here's the fun question, I got these longer cable tank drains.... Now the struggle is to figure out where to run the wire so it's easy to grab but out of the way.

On the M35, I have seen them terminate at or above the spare tire at the bed frame. Keep them on the drivers side.

I do not have a picture but I just ran them under the left frame rail and attached them to the frame tie-down handle above and slightly to the rear of the spare tire. They are looped around the tie-down and secured with crimp ferrules.
