Greetings from a first time poster.

I have a military looking 6X6 truck that is titled as a 1978 ZELI (sn 955).
It has an International 466 turbocharged intercooled engine, 5 ton Rockwells (the rears are two speed), a 5 speed transmission with a hi/lo shifter, and a hydraulic MU5 winch. On the bed is a 40 foot boom and an 18 inch auger. It was last used by a local construction company to install power lines.
Any chance this is a converted military truck? I'll try to post a picture of it if needed.

Thanks,
Harry

RE: ZELI

Zeligson converted M series trucks for power line and oilfield construction for many years, maybe still doing it. Very High Dollar and High, dependable quality work. You can buy one today that has been used on line work for 20 years and it will still usually have enough life in it for a small contractor for several more years. I ran an International 5 ton Zeli conversion for several years in 1977-1983 that had a Sterling Marauder pressure digger on the back end that weighed at least 15 tons by itself and could auger a 60" diameter hole 27' deep And it did, more than a few times.
