my name is karl Hewitt. I need to know if someone works on mep 803a generators in the southwest Michigan area? mine worked fine last year five different times. this year I had health issues and did not start the generator. we were with out electricity 2 weeks ago and it did not start, only the ticking of the electric fuel pump. any leads would be very much appreciated.

found an electrician to check things out. now I can get it started, stumbles a little, then sounds good but for only 30 seconds then sounds like it starves it self out. any input would be appreciated.

Karl, are you just looking for someone to work on your gen set, or are you willing to work with us to fix it. There are several people here who will jump in and help you, if you are willing to do the hands on.

Howdy,

Get a battery charger.

Charge each 12v battery separately to bring them back to life. Or.. Get new batteries.

thank you for your information. went through that last year. have a 24 volt 3amp trickle charger on it. I hit the manual crank switch and the engine turned over. my guess it the starter relay or switch that tells the brain that the engine is running. when it tries to start you can hear it go through the presteps for starting and it then jumps and only the fuel pump is heard ticking.
