Thank you porkysplace, you have been and are very helpful.
I know how crooked politicians are and when they decide they want to change something they will either edit or delete that link and claim it wasn't changed. With the text posted to SS it is preserved as it went out the first time .

A good example is they are going to build a new county jail here that is at the edge of a 'Historic Neighborhood" even know they are only moving the jail 300 feet from it's current location the neighborhood association is fighting them (don't matter they are breaking ground may 1st). They had a meeting 2 weeks ago to discuss residents concerns , they had 5 different sets of blueprints and depending on who they were talking to and what they wanted determined what print was the "Final Print" and when it comes time to break ground none of those blueprints will be used. I'm a 3rd generation in a family contracting business I know how they work.

This is what just came in.
The Bill is not in the building stage yet, right now it is still in the drafting stage, so they are drafting it and will resend for review and after that it should go to the formal steps.

This is going to be worse than watching paint dry

It sounds like somebody is trying to push this through without ant impute from
From the michigan MVPA's or the MVCC , it seems like membership of these groups would be involved in drafting this and from what I'm hearing outside of SS is this hasn't happened.

the way I read it the bill includes a MV for unrestricted use in August the same as a historic plate,

For purposes of this section, use of the vehicle during the month of August in each year is considered an exhibition.

Use in August is considered an exhibition. an MV can be driven during an Exhibition in Michigan

Hello

That is absolutely correct. Also it does not infringe on any pre existing laws but establishes grounds for titling to avoid denials from the sos and also includes the creation of a historic military plate for those who wish to obtain one wether you chose to display your plate or not based on previous laws.

All Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners.
State Senator HopGood is spearheading a bill in Lansing that
would create a new class of “Historic Military Vehicles” whose titling would
parallel our “authenticated” antique vehicles and plates issued by the
Secretary of State.
I wonder if anyone has taken into account that "Historic Military Vehicle" is not a new term but is already defined in Act 300 Part 257.225 (6):

257.225 Registration plate; attachment to vehicle; legibility; color; distinctive registration plates; name plate, insignia, or advertising device; limitation; historic military vehicle; violation as civil infraction.
Sec. 225.(1) Except as otherwise provided in this subsection and subsection (6), a registration plate issued for a vehicle shall be attached to the rear of the vehicle. A registration plate issued for a truck tractor or road tractor shall be attached to the front of the vehicle.(2) A registration plate shall at all times be securely fastened in a horizontal position to the vehicle for which the plate is issued so as to prevent the plate from swinging. The plate shall be attached at a height of not less than 12 inches from the ground, measured from the bottom of the plate, in a place and position that is clearly visible. The plate shall be maintained free from foreign materials that obscure or partially obscure the registration information and in a clearly legible condition.(3) A registration plate or an expiration tab on the registration plate shall be of a different color designated by the secretary of state with a marked contrast between the color of the registration plate and the numerals or letters on the plate. The secretary of state may provide a distinctive registration plate as a replacement for a standard plate. To honor a special or historical event, the secretary of state may provide a commemorative plate as a replacement for a standard plate.(4) A person shall not attach a name plate, insignia, or advertising device to a registration plate in a manner that obscures or partially obscures the registration information.(5) A person shall not operate a motor vehicle that has a name plate, insignia, or advertising device attached to a registration plate in a manner that obscures or partially obscures the registration information.(6) A registration plate issued for a historic military vehicle that is authorized to be operated on the roads of this state is not required to be attached to the rear or the front of the historic military vehicle unless the historic military vehicle was originally manufactured with lighting and mounting provisions for a registration plate. However, if the registration plate is not attached to the exterior of the historic military vehicle, it shall be present in the historic military vehicle to which it refers and shall be made available upon demand of a police officer. As used in this subsection, "historic military vehicle" means a vehicle, including a trailer, regardless of the vehicle's size, weight, or year of manufacture, that was manufactured for use in any country's military forces and is maintained to represent its military design and markings accurately.

Note that a Historic Military Vehicle as defined here does not have to be old, only maintained to represent its military design and markings accurately. If the existing "Historic Military Vehicle" definition (and license plate provisions) are to be maintained, perhaps the definition should be brought up with the others, i.e. 20c or something.

I was reffering to other office holds as co-sponsers , it usually goes smoother when there are more people signed on.

Got it, my bad.
Not at this time, this was started Downriver, that is why Senator Hopgood is involved

Maybe other members could contact their respective Senator's and proposed that they support the amendments, what do you think ?

Great idea. The more sponsors, the better.

Legislators work to pass legislation, it's their job. They like to pass bills that their constituents support, so they get re-elected next time around.

If you can get legislators from both sides of the aisle, that's even better. This should not be a partisan bill. In these days of polarized politics, a bipartisan bill is a feel-good.

Don't just email your legislators, make the telephone call. Or better yet, make a personal visit. NOTHING makes a bigger impression than you walking in their door and giving them your opinion.

Keep up the momentum. Great job so far!
