truck hasn't run in 30 years it did run spraying gas in carb for a few minutes..

Ok got it running.. compression at 119-120 all cylinders

back of exhaust maafold glows red in 3 min. of run time

Why

I think to test temp gauge--take wire off sending unit--ground it to block, the gauge should go to hot--of course this is with the key on/engine running--I don't say with key just on as that might damage something if you have electronic ignition?The TM has the info for everything you ask
