    Default Member Map

Some of you might have noticed the member map link is gone. The third time I've went with an outside source for a member map, they decided to hold it for ransom. I'm going to look for a new option that we can house internally. Sorry folks. Last time they pulled the rug out from under us, they wanted $10K for it. A YEAR.

And a few M105 and M101 and other trailers

Patracy when we sign with somebody for services dont we get a contract with performance guarantees or something that would prevent either party from trying to screw the other??? Any company that I worked with in my 30 years in working I demanded these contracts be reviewed up front and if there was any hesitation from the provider in doing this they were eliminated from the bid list Patracy!

This has all been free options that have had their TOS changed on us.

i have found one thing I’m going to test. If it has all the options we need, it’ll be hosted internally.

So does this mean that all the info/locations previously posted, will now be available through the 3rd party out in the inter webs, without S/S sayso?

Not without paying (through the nose) for it.

If you know of anyone willing to provide the service without the astronomical fees, please let me know. I've been relying on free things out there, but there's no such thing as a free lunch.

I was just going to provide a link to the Member Map for this feller to use on an upcoming M820 trip....

    https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showth...try-in-an-M820

Thanks to the SEARCH box I now know why I couldn't find the Map link where it once existed.

Praying for an affordably free packet that can be locally hosted.

Any update on the map hosting?

It is almost certain I'll be moving to Lexington South Carolina at the end of July. I'm hoping to network with some fine members in the area, as I'm looking to find a place with some space to build a big ole barn for parking some OD out of the sun and rain.

Sorry I'm unable to help you with the restoration of the member map, and I hope you find a solution soon.

    Rick

The option I had only does it automatically based on ip address and geolocation from that. I'm still looking.
