Super singles on M920

I appreciate the response guys, I was hoping for super singles for the look also, but this thing gets stuck on wet grass. So was hoping for better off-road performance also because I work on rough locations sometimes. I left my trailer at a job site yesterday before the rain because it was just spinning on wet grass. I’m not going to do anything that isn’t safe, that’s why I’m getting advice from you guys, this forum is unreal with the knowledge you guys possess. On another note the fithwheel plate is jammed, so I’m looking for a civilian one to hopefully lower it anyway. I really don’t like the idea of grinding away part of the brake drum, just doesn’t seem safe

Using one option Wes suggested, with dual 12R20 and 395 in the front, sounds sweet....except for the front brake drum and 20" wheels. I can think of several trucks that combo would be nice on, starting with my 929 and maybe the M35A3 4x4.

A side question about 12R20.....what rim would one use for a deuce (in my case 4x4) rear? Darn...would need 2 different spares if using 395 up front.

Sounds like chains might be in your future, msitework.

1200s can go on an 8in or 8.5in wheel

On another note, does anyone know how to tell if I have lockers? I couldn’t get my front end to engage either
Rear axles have lockers. You should have an "interlock" switch on the dash if your front end is not pulling them you need to look at the diaphragm for front axle engagement on the transfer case. Its much like a service brake can. It has a rubber diaphragm on it that can rot away

Yea the problem with that diaphragm is it has a metal plate built into it so it is not a standard all rubber diaphragm. I got lucky and had extra parts truck.

445/65R22.5 is what I am planning for the front axle and keeping 11R24s on the rears. The 445/65R22.5 is close enough in diameter to the 11R24 to work - I want to say it's 9 revs per mile less than the 11R24.

The cool thing would be 12R24 G177s. I've only seen a few photos of them, though. And it's not like they are going to get easier to find in the future...

If I could get it switched over to duals, I would have the 445/65R22.5 Michelin XZL from my M322. It's out of my price range at this time plus my wheels are hub pilot.

This is the set up I have been using since retiring the 1600/20 & 21's (on the front). Much better steer tires.

What about LMTV wheels, aren’t they rated for almost 1,000 lbs more than standard 5 ton combat wheels? Will this work without grinding too much?
That is what I broke in that pic. 9900lbs.

Trailer has 425 65 22.5s. They discontinued the 425 and went to 445s.

The commercially available 12R24.5" Goodyear G177 specs a diameter of 45.7 inches (max load 7160-lbs each in dual config, 14,320 per dual)....coupled with the 445/65R22.5 Goodyear G278 (max load 12,300-lbs each), it lists an overall diameter of 46 inches.

And all tubeless, unlike the stock 24" wheels.

Yep, confirmed, they are the 425. Thanks. I had in my head 445....wishful thinking I guess.

I'm heading to the bus sales to see what, if anything, they have for the trailer.
