Just a question if you need a radiator can you use any 8 gallon radiator or do you need one that's made for the truck??I'm working on a rescue m35a2 and someone put a tree branch in it two holes one inch dia.. nice huh.thanks.

Honestly, I'd just solder those tubes shut and run it, unless your going to work her hard, then replace. The stock rad is way overkill unless your hauling max weight all day.

It can be re cored.

I second the re-coring. NOS radiators are still available...at $900 apiece. Re-coring is probably half that. These are solid, massive old-school radiators that can actually be cleaned (rodded) out, repaired and re-cored if needed.

I played around for a while trying to figure out which other current standard radiator might fit, but did not really get anywhere. Modification will be needed.

I agree with getting it fixed. I bought a truck that had about a 2” hole in the radiator, also from a branch. Had the radiator shop solder the affected tubes shut and ran it. Hauled quite a few full bed loads of wet firewood with a full M105 in tow through the mountains and never got warm.
