I've got 3 M818's that came in and having trouble nailing down their rough year, and one's make.

#1 is listed as Truck, Tractor, 5 Ton 6x6, XM818 WO/W
Fed. Stock No. 2320-050-8984
Ord. Service No. 8736863
Mfd. By: Kaiser - Jeep Corp.
ID No. 05B-24170-C124-10720
Cont. No. DAAE06-69-C-0009

From what I've read it seems to be mfg 1969-70?

#2 is listed as Truck, Tractor, 5 Ton 6x6, M81 WO/W
Fed. Stock No. 2320-050-8984
Ord. Service No. 8736863
Mrd. By General Products Division Jeep Corporation
ID No. 05B-85671-C124-13762
Cont. No. DAAE06-69-C-0009

From what I've read this seems also somewhere in the 1970-71 range?

#3 the problem child is listed as Truck, Tractor, 5 Ton 6x6, M818 WO/W
Natl Stock No. 2320-00-050-8984
ID No. C124-10561

No MFD info, no Contract No., no Ord. Service No.. so this one I need the most help on.

Thanks for whatever you guys can help with!

#3 is definitely the oldest one of the group as it has the lowest ID #. The front part of the number is missing which would reveal the exact year. Most 809 series trucks were run off in 1970 and 71 They continued into 1972 but the registration number system changed that year to numbers and letters typically prefaced by "N." They may have launched production in 1969 but I haven't seen too many. Mine was 05B69070, a 1970 M818ww. I remember the number because you had to enter it when composing DA Form 2404, the equipment maintenance and inspection work sheet.

Oh okay, very interesting, thank you for your wisdom!

Now I've got 2 M939's I could use confirmation on the years for, I can start a new thread if preferred.

(Don't have the plate photo in front of me anymore but can get it if more info is needed)

This had a delivery date of 1986, and a rebuild tag which was hard to read but appeared to say 4/07?
So I assumed this was a 1986?

The other one I have I had to deduce everything about it from it's ID # due to the plate being missing.

Only date was a etching on the closure tag of 1/92.
