Metallic noise near compressor

While working on an injection line leak yesterday I noticed a noise around the compressor. It is metallic and wonder if it could be the compressor failing. It does make air.

Take a ratchet extension and probe around with it to your ear and see where it is the loudest. Noises can echo around pretty good under the hood with something loud. I had something that sounded like a upper engine rattle and ended up being a pulley was actually broken on its kayway and was sitting there rattling back and forth.

Check fan and fan-shroud interference as well.
