Annoucing the first of, I hope to be many for Utah, Military Vehicle meetup and swapmeet!

This is a 1/2 day meetup and swap meet will start after breakfast. We buy/sell/trade our parts/gear/vehicles. Talk, check out each other’s rides, tell tall tails, have lunch and go our separate ways by early/mid afternoon.

Bringing or owning a military vehicle is not required but is encouraged!

  • Date: Saturday, April 13th, 2019
  • Time: 9:30 am
  • Where: Smith and Edwards (their newer location), 9010 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 8408
    • See the below map for the approximate planned parking location

2 - Smith & Edwards - 9010 S. Redwood Rd, West Jordan UT 84088.jpg

Please use the rest of the thread to share items you could bring, or let fellow attendees know what you are looking for.

Note:
Yes, I have communicated this event to the Smith and Edwards owner and we have permission to be there. However, due the to limited size of this location's parking lot, if we get 20-30 confirmed vehicles showing up we'll need to move locations. Not a bad problem to have though ;)

Current confirmed attendance: 8

I have some stuff I can bring to try to sell, have to look at it al and get picks. I plan on bringing the HEMTT and will likely have my M1082 trailer in tow.

Gunzy, if the offer is still on the table, don't forget to bring that military 12-pin plug front harness from your M101A3 to trade and I'll bring rubber shell connectors (male exterior, female interior) so you can convert your M101A3's wiring to a civillian connection.

I do have a new, never used 8ft 7-blade circular civilian front harness I got from Amazon if you'd be interested in it (I could just pre-make the connections for you too).

I still need to pull it but I'll get it off and bring it. I already have a harness built to just connect to the Packard connectors where I unplug the 12 pin from.

Final bump, this is happening TOMORROW! Weather looks amiable with a miraculous break in the rain. Dress appropriately as it’ll be a little chilly in the morning.

I'm a bit late in following up, but we had a good turn out!

We were very well received by Brian, the manager of the West Jordan Smith and Edwards location. They took some pictures and posted about the event on their Facebook page. Brian came out and perused our vehicles and hoped we would come back again. I can't think of better praise than the business inviting you back. I'm sure the dozen and a half doughnuts given to their employees didn't hurt.

Here's some of the pics I took and/or saved and stole from others. :]

I'm the slowest so they made me lead the convoy. Heck.
My M35A2, Gunzy's HEMTT, Nacho's HMMWV, and another fellow's HMMWV who I forget their name.

Gunzy's HEMTT. I really like how he flys Old Glory. It's a welcome touch to any event.

This fellow bought this old gasser only ONE month prior and got it running and brakes working the night before and made it to the event!
(I missed getting pictures of the M37 seen to the left the middle picture here. A local Utah Military Vehicles Club member. He had a dummy M2HB in the bed and the kids LOVED it and his horn! He let the kids play all over the truck)

Jerry's resto-mod M37 (it's HIGHLY modified, and sweet!)
The kids also liked playing with Jerry's own built remote control jeep on the hood.

Not a small job for Gunzy to maneuver his HEMTT and M1082 trailer out of the parking lot! But he did successfully back it up about 150 ft.

Solo trip home. My mother went with. She hates you taking pictures of her. ;)

Hahaha oh man. Well, my plans had been September. I still want to do an MV camping trip with everyone and I'm very sad I missed the Avon trail run y'all did.
