Got some more work done, had to completely rework the headers, lost a few nights fixing that... but it's fixed, and clears the frame now. On to some more important stuff...

Been a little while, 60+hrs of work a week hasn't helped, lost brakes in my deuce as well...

But got the wiring harness removed, steering column out, I have a standard column to go in and a factory harness for the 292 to go in. I am waiting on an adapter for my manifold to carburetor to finish that, then running fuel lines. I need to get and mount a blazer fuel tank-initial measurements show my tow hitch will sit lower, so the hang won't be so bad. I'll fab a skid plate anyways. 31 gallons in one tank is better then the two 16 gallons, and cheaper as well, minus the minor fab work.

The rear axle I have under has a all new shoes, hardware and wheel cylinders, I did press in new studs on one side-the originals were either rusted or had damage from wheel slop. Got 4 useable 235/85r16 tires mounted on the rear, I will need to change the front 235's before it goes on the road.

Any updates on the cucv? And any particular reason you chose a 292?
I've always liked the 292, very torquey. I had recently acquired one, and was originally going for a lowered 2wd, but found this CUCV at a price I couldn't refuse. since the wiring was a mess, and the engine had some issues, I felt no issue with modifying for my want, which included being a Dually. Going has been slower, I am on the search for my own home, and most of my funds are getting put away for a downpayment.

But I have installed the rear mount gas tank, finalized some power steering bracket issues, and am currently working on the inside wiring, I am also getting ready to pull the front end and install new brakes and seals, and check over the kingpins. I have also started looking into using a step side bed over the fleetside options.

Sounds awesome. I know a guy that loves the straight 6s. Are you gonna paint it green? If I was to do a cucv I'd do a cummins 12 valve so its still a diesel. But I'm not looking at a cucv. I'd love to have a canadian 5/4 ton (5qaud)

Life has a way of making things go to the back burner, like updating this thread..... but done quite a bit of work, 292 runs, NV4500 shifts nice, brakes are mostly bled, was chasing leaks and possible front caliper still leaking. I'm working on cleaning up the wiring, and getting it more road ready, hopefully by end of next month it will be road worthy, I need all the weatherstripping, and of course every place I checked is 2-3 weeks out. I'll try and let the pictures do the talking.

more pics, Had a friend machine the dually rim clamping rings to accept 60 degree taper nuts, so I can mount later style hubcaps on(not the correct cap in the picture, the dually ones have not yet arrived.) Final paint scheme will likely be camo, or straight green. exhaust is a 2.5 dual, clifford shorty headers, Rumble 2-chamber mufflers. side exit in front of drivers rear tire
