    Default Need M101 part

Yesterday the casted part that ties the frame, spring and tongue together snapped. The right side, specifically. It is the piece that pivots the dump bed. I have looked through previous threads and I see a couple that pertain, but I do not have the equipment or materials to fabricate a fix. Does anyone have a part or know a resource for same?

Broken right side in pic 1 and 2.Undamaged left side in pic 3 and 4.

The part number for the right side is 7339405. That's a pretty common problem, since the trailers aren't designed to dump those break sometimes. Hopefully someone parting out a trailer has one for you.

Yep , they are not designed to dump , the tongue folds to take up less room when shipping.

Probably should post a want ad in the classifieds , want ads are free .

Yeah, there's your problem. A lot a people think these trailers are designed to dump, but they aren't. The axis of the so called pivot bolts are not aligned, so it puts stress on the brackets if you try to pivot the trailer there to dump it. It's probably ok to fold it there for shipping because you can leave to bolts loose and prevent binding, but you can't leave them loose if you try to dump the trailer that way.

You will have to find a salvage trailer to get that part.
That part is almost impossible to find, along with the brake levers.

As already mentioned, the trailer was designed to fold up a bit for transportation on a railroad car.
It was never, ever designed to dump.
Sure, guys do it all the time.
But you've now found out the hard way on “why” they aren’t supposed to dump.

Post your needs in the Parts Wanted Forum and you might get lucky.

I wonder if someone could fabricate these brackets out of plate...
