Default HMMWV Soft Slant Back Kits $590 and up

For those who have seen my thread on the subject, I have resumed production of these kits. (Production is such a lofty word for making these one at a time in my basement, but I'll give myself the benefit of the doubt.)

My kits allow you to cover the rear bed of a 4-man HMMWV with a reasonable equivalent of the fiberglass or aluminum slant back. The frames are made by me from electrical conduit tubing and a mix of factory and homemade fittings. Frames are covered in pipe insulation foam for padding of the cover. The center panel unzips along the sides and can be rolled up and tied to leave the back open.
The covers themselves are my own design, roughly on about Mk 3 of the iterations, for those following along.
They are made from Cordura Nylon, and have been weathering well.

My thread about the development of these is here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showth...Top-Slant-Back

Additional feedback can be found here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showth...and-Discussion (this thread never really took off, but it represents some of the discussion, so I include it)

Details on pricing can be found here:

Short detail on prices: Several options are available priced from $590, plus delivery.
    Standard soft slant back contents:
Steel conduit frame, welded and covered with insulating foam, ready for assembly.
Soft slant back cover in 1000D Cordura Nylon with a zippered center panel (no window).
Printed assembly instructions and advice with pictures are also included.
(See ikoinu post 125, this is that kit. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showth...=1#post2184435)
Standard kit price: $590 plus FedEx
    Upgrades:
    Ballistic Nylon 1650D +$50
Clear 20 gauge Marine vinyl center panel (i.e. a sort of window) + $30
With all options, the DeLuxe version comes to $670, plus shipping.

I am making Tan kits now, but can switch to green without much trouble. I'm making two of each color at present. Frames are interchangeable.
The current run of Tan kits are made from the standard 1000D Cordura. By a stroke of luck, I obtained 20 yards of 1200D Cordura in OD Green and am using the last of that on the next two green kits (at no added cost).

Green ballistic and black ballistic nylon versions can be had. They stress my sewing machine, but I can sew them. They cost extra as noted and I have to order the material. I have green and tan Cordura in stock. I do NOT have a source of Desert Tan ballistic nylon in small quantities, sorry. For what it's worth, with proper care, 1000D lasts plenty well and is a good balance of price and performance.
I ship FedEx and charge actual cost to your location of choice plus $2 for packing materials.
Please PM me about orders or post to the development thread if you have a question for the forum about these.

I stand behind these. You get my cell phone number, email and home address with the instructions.
