Anyone know this unit? I bought the truck in Texas and paperwork seems to indicate it was used at Ft Hood.

This may be from the 244 Expiditionary Aviation Brigade.

Anyone need a bumper? I think I'll be scrapping this one. I replaced it with

Truck was assigned to Headquarters (HQ).
It was the 244th vehicle of whatever the maximum they were allowed. 300 for example.
Every unit is different on the number of authorized vehicles.
This information is always painted on the right side of a bumper, etc.

Most US Army equipment will have the unit markings.
Vehicles, trailers, generators, pumps, etc.
A quick forum search will tell you the format that is used.
Internet search of bumper numbers will usually yield the unit

HQ is headquarters. It's the opposite side of the bumper that tells the unit.

DCGS-A = Distributed Common Ground System - Army

Not sure why DCGS-A would have a CUCV nor such a high admin number. It doesn't necessarily mean there were 244 (or more) vehicles in the unit. That admin number potentially could have been from a previous unit and just kept on there.
