Mop 531a no start

Mep 531a no start

Having difficulty getting a mep 531a to start !,replaced fuel lines when orig lines we’re broken,replaced with gates fuel line,noticed the line on the pump was larger,what size are they ?,I feel i need to get clear lines so I can see if there’s air in there ! Started every year till lines broke !,won’t even bang with ether ?,hope someone can help me !

Changed line to clear ,bleed the air ??

Not sure if you did a search yet but here is a thread that offers some tips on starting issues related to fuel lines, etc.

Also, NEVER use Ether in a high compression diesel...bad things can happen!

Thank you ,nothing on that post,still lookin for help,your the only that responded,and I appreciate your time !,had eye surgery today and can’t see well so please excuse the spelling !

The line into the injection pump is 5/16 ID. Clear line definitely helps you bleed out the air between the filer and the pump. Someone posted some pictures of where a cable tie should be placed around the hose and the hard metal line to ease bleeding air out.

The cable tie is the milatary fix due to the fuel filter being just a tad too high. So it's always been a bear getting these thing to bleed the air out of the fuel lines. If you can't find the picture, say something and I will get to my computer and repost it.
