I have used that method also. But I had them off in a few minutes by hammering a socket on them. The studs are still good so I can reuse them .

If you want to remove frozen bolts buy yourself some KROIL and soak the rust with it. It's never failed me to undo rusted fasteners. I learned about it in the Navy where we would soak salt welded fasteners to get them apart. Fantastic stuff! KANO LABS.
