I've made adaptors before and it's pretty easy. Here's how I did it.
1. Obtain a military trailer pigtail like found on a 1.5 ton trailer
2. Cut off the end where it connected to the trailer, cut back the
outer insulation about three inches, and strip about half an inch off each
individual wire.
3. Find the ground wire. Take a volt-ohmmeter, set the dial to any ohms
range and attach the negative lead to any good ground on the truck.
Touch the other probe to each wire in turn until you read a closed citcuit.
Label that wire as ground.
4. Set your meter to read at at least 24v. You can leave the negative lead
clipped to the truck or move it to the ground wire. Have someone turn on
the head/taillights. Touch the probe toeach wire until one reads 24v.
that's the taillight lead. Do the same with the brake and turnlights.
You don't need to do the blackouts since the civvy trailer doesn't have
them
5 .Match these wires to whatever civvy plug you have. If your'e not sure
which wire goes to what terminal, plug the civvy plug in yoyr trailer and
connect one wire at a time with a jumper. For example, with the lights on
connect the jumper to the taillight lead, then touch the jumper to each
terminal on the plug until the trailer taillights light up. Repeat with the
others.
Hope this helps
