If you respond that you have sold part but not all of the item they will want what you have left back. I know this from first hand experience.

As do I. if youy have modified, sold part, stripped, etc they will want what is left back, as long as it is still teh basic "end item".

It is the end of the line... Everybody run out and buy all the privately owned deuces you can find and don't leave any contact information when you leave with it:!:

They're ACRONYMS, those pesky abbreviations that get tossed around so casually. The military loves them, but can't hold a candle to school administrators when it comes to their use. When I was teaching we had a simple saying when they got thick: "acronyms suck." I find myself repeating that saying while reading these posts on occasion. I agree with the GreenJeepster--lets explain those obscure references from the get-go. If you get much past GL, EUC, DRMO and BS, pony up with the full name!

October 13th, 2009.

NOW is the time to upgrade like h--l and put in every contraption you ever wanted at full list and labor.....What about the bobbed deuces.... and the rare low rider deuce on the 13" centers, that oughta go good for Uncle's stealth attack into Mexico.....
Used to be when Sam sold a truck, he didn't want it back. If the deuces are being phased out due to overage and other issues, what the heck's going on?

We REALLY need to get togather with MVPA and bring down the Congressmen, Senators and publicity heat.... Uncle really hates to look bad in public. My beef is that the M35A2 cargos and M53(?) Dump trucks are little more then a civillian off road work truck with little strategic importance. If a terrorist's gonna get you..... it would be with a Ford van, Chevy van or some nodescript vehicle, Uncle, even Tim McVeigh figured that one out all by himself and you trained him. The rest of us, including myself, are 100% loyal to our Nation and will serve when called.... just leave our trucks alone or pay list and upgrades.

Just my .02

Cheers,

Kyle F. McGrogan:p

Guys, I don't see any reason to panic here.

From working on the inside, I can see pretty much what has happened. Some item manager who overseas the instrumentation shop system has determined that the demil code for the shop set needs to be changed, because there is a lot of sensitive stuff on it.

This is where the lack of common sense comes in- stripping all the gear from the inside renders it into essentially an M109 van. But since the NSN for the item means it comes with what is considered sensitive, as long as that NSN is attached, the demil code applies.

What needs to happen is the item manager to say that removal of the gear from the back constitues adequete demiliterization. I would try to contact the item manager.

Well as much as a part of me keeps thinking this is one truck, nothing to get excited about (obviously is for the owner, but I mean big picture), I can't help putting the other pieces together: all the trucks getting pulled from the current auctions, many of us having EUCs stuck at BC for an excessive time (and I mean many of us, for a very long time, even though they aren't our first EUCs), and this last piece of the puzzle- wanting a truck back.

I'm nervous enough about my EUC, I didn't need more info to start playing tricks with my mind.

and the M35A2 trucks?

Normal government overreaction.

One guy gets a DUI, the whole unit gets a lecture and a DUI class.

One idiot overloads a jackstand and it buckles, every jackstand on post must be load tested again.

One or two M35's get sold that somebody freaks out over, every M35A2 must be puleld and reviewed so they can show they are 'doing something" when they brief the General.

I would be $100 this whole pulling of the M35A2 for "verfication" in an exercise to make a good bullet point in somebodies powerpoint somewhere...

another oddity..... August 2009 it's DMIL "Q" and

DEMIL_INTG
Code: 6
Description: NON-CRITICAL FSC/FSG MLI OR NON-SENSITIVE CCLI. REQUIRES MUTILATION OVERSEAS.

now (October WEBFLIS) it's DMIL "Q" and

0 DEMIL CODE REVIEWED BY DCMO. RECOMMENDED DEMIL CODE AND CURRENT ICP DEMIL CODE ARE NOT EQUAL. PRESENTLY IN COLLABORATION CYCLE.

and yet the OP gets an email saying it's DMIL 7 : FUSML ITEMS - DEMIL REQUIRED. ITEM/TECHNICAL MANAGERS OR EQUIPMENT/PRODUCT SPECIALISTS WILL FURNISH SPECIAL DEMIL INSTRUCTIONS. (NOTE 3).

sounds like it's getting reviewed and since the reviewers (collaborators  ) don't know nuthin they're playing it safe and dropping it on the Equipment Specialists to tell the IM's what to do (the IM's having never even seen an M185 or M35 probably)

I gotta respectfully disagree with that. Time will tell.

My EUC might get canceled, we'll see... but I feel REALLY bad for the guy(s) who have their deuce and have to give it back. That is 100% unreasonable IMHO.

First thing I think everybody should do is 'chill out'. We go thru this every couple of months but I've yet to see or hear of anybody's truck going back. They changed the code, they changed the law, they changed their mind, if they really want it, they'll get it.

When and 'if' they finally decide they're takein it back, you must let them have it like the contract you signed said you would. That does not mean you must deliver it to them.

Tell them where it's at, if they want it, come get it, as it's their truck not yours. Hang on to all your paperwork, SF97, title, etc. till they pay your storage fees and watch to see if anybody shows up.

Actually it does per the user agreement:
Items sold by us, which are changed to a Demil Code status of other than B or Q from Demil Codes A, B or Q, or are otherwise determined to be restricted by DRMS, must be returned by you to the nearest DRMS facility
