It is a heavy pry bar that is part of the Basic Issue Items (BII) of most armored vehicles. When used by "tread heads" for it's intended purpose it is most often used to "break track" or to get a track back on the tank if the driver slings one (slinging a track will not endear you to your fellow crew members). I was in a tank battalion in Korea and to this day I hate tanks.
I have one and use it for heavy prying missions that require a lot of leverage but I have bent them.
