Select Vehicles on Hold GL WHAT?

If I had a Paid in Full I would load out... per the terms and conditions it is all that is required to pic up a lot is the approved EUC and that paid invoice.
Then when they come knocking on your door and decide they want their truck back, you are out the recovery expenses. And in my case, thats a combined recovery distance of 1500+ miles.

I might consider doing just that if the base was an hour away.

Edit: Then again, we would be in violation of whats basically a government order. Thats no more legal or ethical than what I mentioned previously.

My state of N.H. doesn't require that I keep any record of the buyer of any vehicle I sell. I sign the back of the title, and its no longer mine. GL rules only require that if I sell a truck, I keep track of the buyer.

If I were to sell my truck, and keep track of the buyer, I'm 100% legal. If the next guy sells the truck in 3 months, he doesn't have to keep track of anything. If after a period of time I drive by someone's yard and there is my old Deuce sitting there with a For Sale sign on it, maybe I would decide to buy it back.

Legal? Yes. 100% ethical? No, but neither is holding my money for months, and not allowing me to pick up my own truck. Or coming to take back a vehicle someone already bought and put time and money into. In an example such as this, I would take legal over ethical any day.

It won't matter to me anyway, because they've dragged their feet so long, both trucks have to be sold anyway, because we are hurting for the money. I was counting on the resale of one of the trucks to help us out. But with everything thats happened, I just as soon they cancel the sale and give me all of my money back. I'll take the loss on the plane ticket and other expenses I'm out.

Jim
Each subsequent owner has to inform the next of the EUC Rules. Each previous owner has to keep record of who they sold the item to. If you bought a truck from a private sale and they bought it from GL, I'm sure when the DRMS comes looking for it they will tell them your name. If/when I sell one of my trucks, I will have the buyer sign a statement that these rules were explained to him or No Sale.

Section 4 and 6 spells some of it out.

nhdiesel you should stop complaining. My truck is on hold and I am also pissed. I was bidding on 2 more and decided to let them go because I couldn't afford to lay out a bunch of money right before winter. We all have bills too. I wanted to get more trucks so I could sell the extra 2 at a proffit and keep one for free. If you needed the $ for heat and school then you shouldn't have been bidding. You might end up with a junk truck from G.L. any time you place a bid. Mabey lottery tickets would fit your time table better.

Well that sucks. It was a nice thought though...it made me feel a little better at the time. There is just no way to win with the govt.

If I were close I would do a recovery and then store it in a mini storage, make a deal with the owner of the lot, that if someone comes for the truck they have to pay the full storage fee. I don't see anyone taking it with force... especially if there were a few professional witnesses..... hmmmm say for instance..... the police?

When I bought the trucks I was employed. Now I'm not, and neither is my wife. Although she has an interview Monday. I've been out of work for over a month, and even my unemployment was denied. Thats not gl's fault, just bad timing...and thats what I'm dealing with.

If they want the truck back they pay the price you payed plus transportation costs. I understand your situation with the distance, but I would load out anyway. If you provide them with the EUC and paid in full invoice you have met their terms and conditions. They would either have to allow you to load out or refund the sale.

If you haven't printed the paid in full invoice already do so now before they pull it back.

I will attempt it for you if you want, but I can only do it on Wednesday or Friday.

1st bid, 1st deuce, and she's on the list

Remember the episode of MASH when Radar was trying to send a Jeep home in boxes? I wonder how many "visits" I could make to the yard with a bunch of crates.........

I'm fine with $ back but I really want that truck! Probably my last tango with GL.

Oh, I just wanted to add that I am raising my hand :-D

Having spent time in the military I know full well that the way the DOD operates is not reflective of the Government in general.

I'm going to hold off from any recovery attempts for now. Unless I saw something in writing that specifically said I'd get reimbursed for realistic transportation costs (and I mean realistic to me, not whatever the govt. decides its worth), then I don't want to take a chance. Not to mention going against the e-mail we all received.

And yes, I did already print out my Invoices. In fact, my friend in Kentucky who was supposed to pick up my Deuce already has all the paperwork, including the insurance card, invoice, and waiver to pick it up. The temp. plate and registration are on their way already by Priority Mail.

Now its just wait and see. Maybe it will all be cleared up Monday. rofl

Dang!

This was my first try at getting a deuce, it seems that it was not as straight forward as I first saw the process. I really want a deuce, I have been dealt a blow due to the wrangling of the government. This is what I read:

Dear Valued Customer,

The DRMS has just notified Government Liquidation that select vehicles sold through Government Liquidation auctions are currently on hold until an inspection of each vehicle has been conducted. A list of affected vehicles is posted below for your reference.

More information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Government Liquidation's Customer Service at info@govliquidation.com.
We appreciate your attention.
Sincerely,
Government Liquidation, LLC

I was really looking forward to an adventure with the recovery. Probably the biggest issue is bringing the truck home when the snow is flying, I really thought I would have it in the barn by the time the salt was down, now I'm not so sure.

Since I got a paid in full invoice the day before the hold notice my 14 day pickup clock is ticking. Now what? Should I just try to pickup like nothing happened and deal with the fallout later? :?:
