Scheduling was pretty lax last time and will be again this time. The only thing that has a scheduled time is the convoy into town for lunch on Saturday. We left at 11:30ish with a Sheriff's escort and I'm planning the same thing this time.

Opening weekend is one of the things we talked about in the other thread when trying to set this up. Dove Season, Football Season and Deer Season pretty much define the fall in Texas as we all know. Most of us have also come to realize that opening weekend is more an invitation to get shot than a chance to shoot anything. So, we are going to play with our trucks instead.

What kind of shirts you have in mind?

With all of us Aggie types coming, we might all have to start putting our year after our names. Tim '90.

Haha, who knows.. but nothing decisive as of yet. If enough interest was given we could possibly get something rolling. I've got the email of the person who did the GA rally shirts. She may be willing to crank out a design or two for fellow SS members.

The design we discussed for the rally back in March was an OD Green shirt with Black or Tan print stating the event and year and a silhouette of a deuce, a blazer and a Pinz since those were the vehicles we were expecting.

If enough people were interested I'd lead the way for T-shirts. Not sure of funding or costs yet, but obviously more = less $ per shirt.:driver:

Phone number is (979) 778-8283.
I searched the # and found this one in Beeg Dee. I think I don't want to drive it to Bryan like this unless Dallas can't help me. I did drive it from Chester, IL to Dallas TX and I paid the piper for that.

Sounds like it's one of the rears.

This is probably a stupid question, but did you make sure the tires were dry inside when you mounted them ? My 11.00x20's were full of water, more then 2 gallons in one! They all had good flaps and tubes, and looked as though you could just slap them on, no indication there was water in them just rolling them around. I was waffling on whether I needed to pull out the tubes and flaps (which was a pain) and clean them out, until I accidentally dropped one its side and water poured out between the tire and tube/flap.
I don't think they would have water in them but that is a good lesson and I;m glad you mentioned it.

They came off 54Reo's wrecker and he didn't report any problems, but I think he had only driven it around on the farm. He didn't like them on the already tall wrecker due to the increased height. He got them from someone else on here, I don't remember whom.

Other than the spare, none have been broken down. We did roll them by hand from one truck to another and didn't notice anything, but I suppose we wouldn't just doing that. Believe me we did not want any of them to fall over, they are a little on the heavy side. I still don't have a crane for handling them. The lift gate will help but lying flat, it is nearly impossible to move the wheel. The best bet is for me to get 'er done is to call the Goodyear dealer. Parare Pecunia

Expense is what I don't need right now because I am near the end of another project building out the amateur radio station based on equipment from the 50's to the 80's. haha anyone who thinks these trucks are a costly hobby, try ham radio, and try it not with plastic radios from Asia, but with USA-made vacuum-tube type broadcast and military stuff. Thank goodness cats are cheaper than wives and children.

Like going from a Silverado to a 5T, everything gets bigger, heavier, more dangerous, more manually operated, and consumptive of space and energy. These are all good avocations, MV's and Electronics. You know the Avocations. They live in the seething fluid foaming between the meta-clutches of the mind. Just visualize that, it's what happens with green fever or getting bit by the radio bug.

anyway not to get off track, I will do everything possible to get it ready in time, and if it is not done then I will try and drive down in said Silverado.. and bring my ATV along.

By the way, who are ham operators, and does anyone have radios? like a PRC-77 or other military or civilian 6-meter capable (50-54MHz FM) gear? I have a PRC-77 installed on the ATV. Anyone using CB radio? it's always good to have some kind of communication 'plan' in case someone breaks something and does not show back up timely.. Cellphones might work ok there? but I don't rely on 'em when it's my 4ss.
