Home made "NSN" chocks.

measurements for the wood chock on PS magazine:
width- 8.5 inches
length along ground side: 10.5 inches
length along tire contact side: 8 inches
bolts: 5/16" dia
bevel ground contact edges a per dwg in PS mag. This helps prevent the edge fron breaking off.
These measurements are nominal, as the wood has shrunk since maufacturing.
123Mack - the PS magazine shows 7 piece chocks, however if the width is 8 1/2" that would make sence as that is what 5 pieces of "2 by" add up to (ea nom 1.75"). The one I photo'd was 5 piece and had a NSN on it. So I'm guessing that the PS magazine ones are "similar" but for trailers maybe...
The PS mag NSN for the bolt would confirm 'their' width.

In any event, I went with your dims, 5 pieces wide, but hardware store didn't have 8 1/2" bolts, so I got threaded rod instead - a tad cheaper. Will weld n smooth "bolt head" and put a little sleeve in the middle so it looks like a bolt where the chain is.
Chain was $1.49/' and just like the mil ones; 2/0 style, I think rated at 500lbs??

Thanks again for your help.

Chocks

Hey all,

Well all this talk has me wondering what size chocks I'll need for the Mk48 LVS?
There is actually a chock carrying rack on the rear left fender...

Anyone know what the proper chocks look like for the LVS and where i can get a set?

Thanks!
