Some of you guys need to think a little more realistically regarding these light armor vehicles. .300WM, .338 Lapua, and of course any .50BMG will punch holes in these and keep going. A few Molotov Cocktails will take them out quite easily as well. And those are the readily available weapon systems. Anything anti-armor will shread it.
They are fun to own and drive around, and they are well protected from handguns, but that's about it.

B3.3t As a V driver in Nam a little armour is better than no armour. We had a RVN V hit one of our V's and it opened up the fuel tank. Big fire, one of our guys burnt bad, the others were OK. Welded a plate on the tank Repaint and it was back on the road.
Had one it a land mine everyone OK V was totaled. Went to Japan for repair It never came back.

Of course ANY armor is better than none. That is not the point. The point is some members, and law enforcement, have these doomsday fantasies regarding armor. They seem to imagine MBT protection from light armor that are beyond anything close to reality.

You are correct we hopped for nothing more than a light rifle round or a hand gun round to hit our V if anything at all. We found out that this armour was not very strong and could stop very little.
But, it does look cool and it can keep you in the zone to help others, but not for very long. And if you are lucky it will get you out of the kill zone.

Thank You And Thank You for keeping a V alive It looks like you and M813rc have and are doing a great job of keeping the V's alive and well. I will try to go to Tx this year to look at M813rc V. Its great to see that you two can do this type of work. Keep it up Again Thanks
